That's great. I'm glad that they're not focusing solely on bringing massive mainstream titles to the PS4. ...Actually Crash Bandicoot for PS4 would be a good idea(I think). Never played the originals but maybe a reboot would be nice(MAKE IT A GRITTY FPS). I haven't played a good platformer in awhile. A non-indie one that is. >>

There are people whithout a Xbox, so it could be an option... I don't know why they can't put the old Xbox conected by cable though...
I would like that the Ps4 had the same system, but if we use the same PSN account in the end it doesn't make any difference between having the Ps3 separeted from the Ps4, as our online progress will be combined like playing in the Psp/vita and your saves and Trophys stack with yours saves and trophies from Ps3, so making a "small Ps3" to conect with the Ps4 would only save a HDMI concection, and maybe some space.

First off, how do you play your old games off the 360 if there's no disc drive? Digital download? If so, how does the Xbox network know which games to give me? Second, is the PS4 backwards compatible? (Bear with me I either haven't heard or forgot) And thirdly, the new Xbox games are most likely going to be blu ray right? So this should be a shoe-in for DVD playability?

I personally don't get why so many people were expecting and wanted to see the console itself. To me that is the least interesting part about a console launch. I guess people enjoy the hype of seeing it in the flesh, it gives the impression it's nearly here. But at the end of the day its what's inside that counts.

As for your question. It's a possibility but doubtful, depends on how similar the online infrastructure is between the 2 machines. I doubt you'll be able to play the same game together, I'm guessing there are lots of complications with that. Though a party chat between the 2 consoles seems possible. At least for the first few years.

In my opinion, that is the exact reason people were let down by not seeing it. I'm more like you, I don't care about the box, it's never a work of art or anything, but the hype is in seeing it in person. Xbox showing the console itself says to the world, "Yes, we have this figured out, we're on top of this, we aren't just following Sony's progress, we are ahead and ready to tackle this new generation of gaming". Specs will be announced to the same degree that Sony announced theirs, but they need to look for the new levels of detail and features to one-up Sony and put the momentum back in their hands.

Personally, I'm not hyped by any of the consoles.

I got the PS3 and 360 WWWWWWAYYYYYYYYYYY late in the game. PS3 last year, 360 this Christmas. I am actually thinking about selling the PS3 and just going 360 considering how much I like the 360 more, but that's just me. I don't like the no backward compatible part, because I honestly don't like stuffing my small room with every single console that's ever going to be made. That and the subscription fees for Live Gold for both sounds like a cash cow, though I might be behind the times and they might stop it for 360 or make it so both would be covered with no fee. That and I heard rumors that there's no used games which I depend heavily on.

The PS4 just for me seems meh... No interesting games except maybe KHIII which I WOULD buy on that system and maybe if they ever make it KHII FM+ in English. But that's the only reason I would buy it.

Wii personally has become a paperweight, I don't need a Wii U paperweight.

I realized that after I posted, lolz... I am going to keep the PS3 for Kingdom Hearts, though there's no rumors about Kingdom hearts II.

    Anywho... On topic...

I will do as I did for this generation, wait and see if anything comes that I think is worth the money. I do like Assassin's Creed and Portal series on my PS3, so it's not terrible.

I hope that they reveal a bit more of their interface, online services and a decent reason why we require Kinect 2. I also hope they'll reveal or at least hint at a few future plans to do with their online feature, because I don't feel much progress is being made so far.

Hopefully Indie developers will have the chance to put their mark upon these machines in some way, because indie developers have really helped support the longevity of the consoles similar to the options a PC gave you. They should get some ease or benefit in these machines, imo.
