That looks incredibly awkward to use. Kinda following in the footsteps of the classic controller that the Wii had. Really odd how closely it resembles the 360 controller. Oh Nintendo.

Looks to me like Nintendo's trying to corner the market when it comes to those games that aren't platform exclusives. This would be interesting...if it worked. How do you program a unit so it works on more than one system?

At least multi-platform games won't have to awkwardly adapt to a completely different control scheme. It will make the controls less clumsy and we'll see more 3rd party games that we couldn't see on the Wii. There's still a level of awkwardness with this new controller though. I think the button placement is terrible. I would have preferred to have seen the Wii's pro controller slightly revamped. That was a pretty comfortable controller in terms of button and control stick placement. But, at least we won't keep wondering as to how the **** games like Arkham City will work.

...Eh. I dunno, it could work. Have we ever tried it that way before? Might be more comfortable with a small adjustment period. Any rate, looks like Nintendo is taking the lack of third-party support more seriously this time around, that's always a plus.

As for the conspicuous similarities to a 360 controller, well... MS and Sony took the Wii's motion controls.

Technically, though, Nintendo have been developing a design like this for a while now through the generations and just completely ditched it last gen with the Wii. Technically, this is their design. Technically. (I've used the word "technically" three times.)

I hate the + pad and AXYB placements. Why couldn't they just do it the old-fashioned way and put the analog sticks near the bottom? XD I'm still happy we're getting this design back though.

I'm liking it quite a bit so far and would probably use it more than the gamepad if I bought a Wii U. Even then, the analog stick placement looks really weird but I haven't played on it yet so I'm sure I would get used to it.
