Didn't see a dedicated thread for this, so now there is one bam. Website & schedule Tumbru Thoughts on the new look? Liking the new shows or hating them? How do you feel about the Big 3 being united on the programming block? Any opinions on IGPX? Miss any of the shows that have already left the line-up? Any old shows you wish were back, or new shows you wish they'd pick up? Too many questions? Yes? Thought so
The line up seems fine to me. There's plenty of old & current shows to watch. The only problem that I have is that they have repeating shows (Thunder Cats) still up there. Considering what used to be on Toonami there should be something to replace it with.
I actually don't seem to mind the line-up so much. A few of the shows I would like to watch are on a little later than I would like, but I can always watch them online. And I actually think it's neat we have the Big 3 on there, it just might get more people into watching ithahahaha, that's a good one.
Liking the Soul Eater, Eureka 7, Thundercats, Sym-Bionic Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Cowboy Bebop Neutral towards One Piece, IGPX, and Bleach Don't care for Naruto Hate Inuyasha Wish they brought back Outlaw Star, FLCL, and Trigun. Hope they show more movies.
You and me both, brah. Toonami's on record saying that FLCL is their favorite anime, but I think they've also said they still have the rights and they're just giving it a break. Not sure why one of those hour-long Cowboy Bebop/Inuyasha blocks couldn't find room for it but ok
Excluding Thunder Cats, I really like the new lineup, expecially Bleach, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater and Inuyasha. Wish they would have added Hitman Reborn.
I will eternally miss Outlaw Star and The Big O, but hey, I'm just glad that Toonami is at least back. The new lineup isn't nearly as good as their older ones, but still good, I'd say. I'm especially glad that they brought One Piece and IGPX back. Deadman Wonderland was pretty cool, too, though it's not airing on Toonami anymore.
We may see The Big O at any time, actually. Toonami personally funded the development of the second season, so by all rights it belongs to them. Not sure about the status of Outlaw Star, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses it.
And sure enough, it's returning on July 27th along with Sword Art Online http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-06-27/sword-art-online-slated-for-july-27-on-toonami
WHAT I SAY. Little wary about SAO, but I honestly don't know anything about it, except that it sounds like new-age dotHACK with a lot less mindf#%k. Which, the mindf&@k is what made dotHACK cool, so Idk. But I guess we'll see.
Sword Art is alright. The animation and fights are pretty and the characters are okay. The second season is lackluster imo, felt like it dragged the story on and the urgency the 1st season built died out. tl;dr it's a nice show but don't really recommend the 2nd season unless you want to see more of the characters and what not ANYWAY I'm glad Toonami is bringing more variety. I love Bebop and liked Inuyasha, but they've been going for years at this point and must people have probably seen all the episodes 3x by now. Naruto...eh. I am hoping they move into Shippuden rather than show the first series again. I also hope Madoka/Steins;Gate come in. Also GURREN LAGANN PLEASE.
Does anyone actually know the status of the TTGL rights? I know SyFy ran it way back when, but I doubt they still have it.
Oh jeez, I actually remember that. Back when they had Ani-Monday or whatever it was called. Pretty sure Aniplex own the rights now, at least for the English dub.
