You listed Resistance twice. The live blog on Kotaku just ended. To be honest, I'm impressed with how easy it is to port ps3 games to NGP. More than one developer mentioned it. Parts of Metal Gear Solid 4 were directly ported for a demo. I was a bit ticked at the lack of ZoE3 but this isn't really a time for announcing new(important) games. This system seems to curbstomp the 3DS in nearly every department. The 3DS only has the 3D and two screens gimmick going for it. NGP is even motion sensitive. And let's not forget Playstation Suite.

It's no surprise that its getting more advanced but I really dont like on how it looks. It's too curvy or an oval shape rather than on how it was originally which I think it should have stayed like that. But other than that it's something really worth buying.

My wallet cries out in pain at the sight of it. I know I'll be getting one.

    What's a touchpad?

This seems to be going for a jack-of-all-trades approach. Or perhaps a barrage. We've got the cameras and the touchscreen of the 3DS, the graphics of a current-gen console, an additional touchpad, the 3G of the iPhone and the correction of the control problem the original PSP had. I just really hope the analogs are a better texture this time. Rubber is so much nicer than plastic that gets slippery after some time playing.

No 3D, which is interesting. Looks like that'll be the deciding factor between it and the 3DS.

Also, what media does it use? It better not use direct download or UMDs.

OHH MAN. This looks like it was leave the 3DS in the dust. Although I am a little sad to see the XMB OS go... I liked that :v

The XMB was nice for appearances, but rather lacking in functionality, and there was a lot more that could have been done with it. Check out some of the CXMB mods when you have time. They look amazing.

This is beginning to worry me. NZ has horrible bandwidth issues. Downloading a large PSP game will take a tenth of my total allowance for the month, and if these games are PS3 quality graphics, it's only going to get worse. If I have to download, I'd rather pirate the games. :/

This is ****ing impressive for a handheld, but I'll hold onto my money until I see the price/battery life/games.

There have been suggestions that the battery life will last 4-5 hours, and Sony Europe boss stated that it'll be 'affordable'. If that's the case then I can't see it being more than £250.

Looks interesting. I'll almost certainly be getting this.

And I've heard rumors that it won't be supporting UMDs, can anyone confirm this? And if games would still be region-free?

It'll be using a different media. I think I heard something about "Flash Memory" but I can't remember anymore. I'm positive the type of media it will be using has already been confirmed. >>

I just checked and here's what Sony has to say, "NGP adopts a new game medium, a small flash memory based card, dedicated for NGP software titles. Taking advantage of the flash memory feature, this innovative card can store the full software titles plus add-on game content or the game save data directly on to the card. By adopting flash memory based card, SCE will be able to provide game cards with higher capacity in the future, allowing developers to store more game data to deliver rich and immersive games."

I also looked up something again and the NGP does in fact have a six-axis motion control built in. Also it so far has about the same battery life of the PSP 3000 model.

And here's some size comparisons of the NGP coming from Kotaku as well as a good look at the touch pad on the back of the NGP.

NOTE: The analog sticks on the NGP are not "nubs" like the ones found on current PSPs. They are closer to the console analog sticks and are said to have a much better feel to them.

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

My wallet screams out in terror at the sight of this. I better start saving up money. I'm definitely planning to buy it.

Also a list of third party developers that are supporting the system

To be honest, I wasn't really that interested in all the games that were mentioned in the NGP unveiling. This list makes so much happier C:

There's one thing that will be a deal breaker for me: Download only games. While they did mention flash memory for games, I get the feeling that it might mean memory built into the device, like there is for the PSP Go. However, the thing is damn impressive looking. Not to mention price point and battery life. I have serious doubts that this thing will be the same price or cheaper than the 3DS. Still, I'll probably buy one after the 3DS so long as digital distribution isn't the only way to get the games.
