Revenge with a vengeance! REVENGEANCE! Alright, besides the crappy title, I loved that trailer. The first 30 seconds I thought it was going to be very generic, but then the swords came out and it looked awesome o.o By the way, the kill at approx 1.30, was pretty damn awesome. I think I'll buy it when it comes out, but once again, I really, really don't like the title. (Sub-Title, I guess)
Shooter ? You mean Hack' n slash ? That' s pretty generic compared to "Tactical Espionnage Action", sure, but they announced that' s what the game would be from the word go. A stealthy cyborg Rayden wouldn' t make sense anyway. This trailer reminded me Hokuto No Ken, for some reason. This is not the Metal Gear Solid I know and love. It doesn't even FEEL like MGS. All the hype I had for this just withered away. I might rent it.
It looks interesting I suppose. I never played a MGS title before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it looks good for what it is.
I'm looking very forward to this. I loved Bayonetta and seeing Platinum Games develop Rising is awesome. But the name change bothers me. Metal Gear Rising. It sound much cooler as Metal Gear Solid Rising for me. Reasons are reasons.
I was going to mention the name change, dropping the 'Solid' completely, it could be that this will be the start of a seperate 'Rising' series. Seeing as Solid Snake and his kin are likely not going to be featured much at all, maybe this will be the start of a cyborg type genre. I'm a fan of certain hack'n'slash games, but I also expected a bit more stealth in the game than has been shown, like fast paced fighting by striking from the dark and such. I'm going to have to see more varied gameplay so I know where this is going.
doesn't look like a bad game, looks a little ridiculous and over the top but also looks very fun. it's nice to see some news with this game, with the long gap of time between the announcement and following news, i thought it was cancelled or something.
I agree that it looks a bit over the top, but I mean - that's part of the charm, I think. It'll be interesting to see, though.

Not really sure about this game. When I think of Metal Gear, I think more of the stealth aspect and while I could see some of it in the first trailer for this game, this trailer has none of it. Not to mention it takes place after MGS4 which makes no sense considering I thought Raiden started a family with Rose and his son. Now he's abandoning them? Why did he choose to become a cyborg ninja again? So many questions.
First off, a rumor that quickly surfaced after the game's unveiling: Rising is a proper sequel in the Metal Gear Solid saga. This, according to the Kojipro official Twitter, is not the case. "We've only said that the period setting is several years after MGS4. Metal Gear Rising is not part of the Metal Gear Solid series. At present, we can't say more than this." http://andriasang.com/comzba/mg_rising_details/
That was a bit obvious considering they took the 'Solid' out of the title however I'm wondering mainly how it will affect the main series. I don't know, I'm just not excited for this game if Kojima's barely if at all involved in it. Platinum Games is a plus but even then I'm not exactly a fan of Raiden.
