It works better on the Lite skin though. Royal Blue actually looks really close to the Super Mods/Admins on that skin and it's pretty bright.
Brick Red is calmer and Mod Red is a lot brighter and in your face.

Well, I feel that there's a difference between the royal blue thing and my high standards. And it is that staff has already said no to a lot of premium colour suggestion on the ground that they're too similar to something they use. While what I suggested would just be a challenge for people who want to obtain these perks. 5000 rep might be a bit much, but it's not too far fetched I feel, would it not ruin the whole thing if there were more "nobles" than normal members running around? Similar to how there is now with prems.

The purpose of this is to get more people posting again. Having a large rep requirement would hurt that.

Then drop the rep and just have a high post requirment. Which is what I'd see as ideal anyway, considering how broken the rep system is.

Only a few of those who are close to or beyond the 3,000 post mark are active. A higher post requirement would be absurd.

Not especially. If what you're going for is to get KHV as active as it used to be, then it would be pretty easy to get above 3000 posts. Many people, including myself, got to prem in less than a week back then. Dropping one sentence posts everywhere. This could easily lead back to something similar to that, so a 5000 post limit wouldn't be too far fetched. Besides there's already two (not including staff) members who would get it instantly, and another one pretty close. Starting out with a three nobles isn't that bad. Starting out with eight seems a bit too much.

Is it? I don't see the similarity.

While I agree with most of your points, the staff are already going to nitpick this entire suggestion into oblivion. If you make it too hard they will deny it far more easily. They are generally averse to major changes, remember.

Though your admin hex is broken, I get the idea. For some reason, I was thinking admin color was closer to DeepSkyBlue, which is my font color of choice.

Also, it depends on how dark the Celestial/Elite/Noble blue would be. As has been demonstrated with hex codes, it's not limited to named colors.

Sorry. I just remember waaaaaaaay back when banned members were brick red. They changed it to gray when KHV first went to a light skin in 2008 because it was thought that mods and banned members were too difficult to distinguish.

Alright, point taken. I will hold my thoughts until the staff have at the very least given their thoughts on this.

RVR - "Yeah sorry guys no can do lol"

Well this seems like something big, so I think this'll be interesting.

Also I suggest the name Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta.

Edit - Just wanted to talk about the name thing. We gotta look at the picture here. The staff are obviously the highest members, so I don't see why this new thing should get cool names like LEGENDARY or w/e. Maybe something more KH related. I was thinking Apprentice, at least. Like how Terra and his gang were working to become Keyblade Masters or some shiet. I've never played the game, so. But yearp. Right now I care about the name thing....

why on earth do you guys need to have some sort of motivation to post more? this is a rather silly idea, in my opinion. if you want the forums to become more active, post on your own. you don't need some sort of prize at the end.

Yeah, I sort of thought something like that. I think the forum is alright as it is but what do I know I spend most of my time in the Spam Zone.

Still, I think it'd be cool to have something like this. It would be something new.

As I said before in the preliminary stages I am in extensive approval of this. My only major applicable concern is the ability of the perks to act as incentives, which is why, I suppose, it is good that the public considers these perks in question. I have a few minor concerns, namely the brick red colour of the usergroup being a bit too close to Sectional Moderators as Amber said earlier, same with the blue to the admins I believe. Something in-between would be nice. I believe Vivi suggested a gold colour previously?

    No thank you.

Why don't we get a list of good colors together and have a public vote?
I'd thoroughly enjoy having dat Rainbow make a comeback.

Posting this without my template, because it makes the colors more confusing to look at lol.

Alright, I read through all of the comments stated above, and I'd like to give it a shot in organizing this scenario. But beforehand, perks only work within a usergroup. I think they could add perks here and there, but when you make a usergroup, that's when they check off and on what those members can or cannot do. Having marks here and there would be difficult and confusing in my opinion.

So without further ado, I think this is the requirements, or prerequisites for Noble: (Side Note: I think using teal would be the best color, as a lot of premiums want to have teal once more. Having it as a higher usergroup color, will give them some form of incentive to get to it thereof. The brick red username may prove to be confusing with the Sectional Moderators, and I still think Administrators should be the only bearers of bold.)

    • 2,000 Reputation Points
    • 3,000 Counting Posts
    • 2 years of Registration

In regards to perks, I think there should still be a definite line between staff and Noble. There must be a difference from Premium, but not too much, and not too minute. So here are my thoughts (and side notes) of the perks for Noble once a member meets and fulfills the requirements to enter the usergoup above:

    • Noble Pin
    • 180 x 180 Avatar Size limit. (200 x 200 should remain a staff perk.)
    • 5 More lines of code permitted within sig space
    • Ability to Lock your own threads and unlock them. (I suppose in this regard, staff should soft delete a thread that a Noble made if it had some serious drama in it, therefore it cannot ensue. Working on that idea... Maybe the ability to lock any thread they make save in the Spamzone, as that seems to be where that issue would be brought up.)
    • Their own section (OMG even more dead than premiu-*shot*)
    • In regards to their own section, a subsection for "beta testing", where staff can show Nobles previews of skins or whatnot and they can give back detailed feedback for more user friendly and accepted things in the future. (It's like on deviantART, when you become premium, you can choose to be in the beta testing group, but in this case you're kinda a beta tester as well. You've become a well ingrained member of the community, your thoughts should be heard on it's look and future.)
    • 1 week pending for name changes

I think seeing the invisible is something only reserved for staff, as they need to moderate and know when people are on more than non-staff. If people want to be invisible, they should have as much privacy as they can, and staff keep that privacy, but we cannot guarantee that with the Nobles.

I know staff have been weary of such a change, or many changes in general, but I think it would really really boost activity. Even though, yes, they are more "elite" than premium, there will always be tiers on a forum, you cannot stop that unfortunately. But I have not seen Premiums look down on Regular Members from a personal experience, and I don't think this will do the same. Just as long as there are no MOD POWAHS instilled within the group, it should be fine.

Please take this in consideration. I beseech thee.

I'm not so sure about this idea . . . Sure, it looks good on paper, but some people are already complaining about how there's a Premium section and stuff. There's a certain division among the forum between Prems and normal members, seeing as they group together. I just don't want that to happen when these . . . elites come about.

One can never be satisfied, hence, the reason why this is in question. But it's main concern is for boosting activity, and giving more rewards to those dedicated to keeping the forum very active.

I'm sorry, but if you complain about how premiums get their own section, that is just pathetic. People make it such a big deal, but it really isn't. If you have such an excuse, then either forget about it, or BECOME premium. Excuses are excuses, but it is possible to hit 1000 posts.

They aren't Elites, I wouldn't call them that. I think Noble would be a good term for many reasons:

    • They are the top of the Non-staff groups
    • It is a term of elegance and magnanimous way that doesn't connote superiority.

Also, I find it very annoying when people don't take these things seriously. You wonder why things never get done...
