They already have a thread, but I guess it'd be ok to make a new one since it's dead.

The new single is pretty good. I like the chorus and style. Probably should get more CD's by them, since I only have the Collector's for Phobia.

I like their songs because they pretty much always have meaning. They're pretty good.

I'm merging these Breaking Benjamin threads since they deal with the same upcoming album. I like this new single "I Will Not Bow", enough even to temporarily regain my interest in the band.

Breaking Benjamin...one of the few rock bands that I consider to have talent these days. Ben is an awesome singer. Did you guys know that So Cold was a song fused from two older unreleased songs(Inertia and Always...both of which I got my hands on.)? I've loved this band since forever. :/8D: I can only hope that they put some of their unreleased songs on this CD. ...Oh...I can't wait to find out what song will be acoustic. 8D RAWR.

...what? There are so many freaking awesome rock and metal bands these days. It just happens to be that they're unfortunate enough to be underneath the media radar thanks to everyone preferring the same ol' stuff. Breaking Benjamin are good, but not exactly what I'd call AMAZING or REVOLUTIONARY.

It's not that narrow minded actually. Maybe a little but there's a difference between sounding good and having skill. I never said Breaking Benjamin was revolutionary but it's a very well rounded band. I listen to a few "underground" bands...but eh. There are some bands that just should stay that way and some that deserve the spotlight. It's always a matter of personal taste and a band's technical skill. Some people like bands with only one good member in it, some people just like "solo" artists. I look into a few bands...and after awhile, you find out which has(if any) talent. Then there's always the bands that copy themselves...like Metallica(although I still freaking love that band). Eh. Well I got off topic and none of this matters much. Breaking Benjamin just fits my taste. 8D

I'm getting tired of these movie-single tie-ins. Sure, the song is great and the movie looks cool, but I'd prefer something more original for the music video rather than just footage from the movie and a few shots of the actual band playing.

Ok, now, don't shoot me for this, but, I'm not impressed to be honest.

I Will Not Bow feels so generic to me, I'll wait for the album before I bear judgement completely, but I really hope the rest is better than this.

I know that bands change and develop and so on so forth but, damn, I used to love them, this single though, not so much.

    I agree with this.

    I just went to a careers exhibition and downloaded the whole new album to my phone to listen to them on the bus and i want to offer my opinion on it now;

For the point go, i personally don't think it was wise to name the album dear agony because the song "Dear Agony" is actually the weakest song on the album. It, however makes up for it in the quality of the songs on the album, even though dear agony is the weakest song, it is by no means bad.

Here are the two best songs on the album.

The most powerful song on this album would have to be "Lights Out" which utilises an unusual mixture of pure emotion which is done beautifully. The start of the song opens with a strong burst of sound with mure vengance on benjamins tongue.

Second would have to be "What Lie's Beneath". It manages to integrate happiness into a song of melancholy, the way they play their instruments makes to song seem happier than it is at the chorus. The chords and everything change at certain points like during the line "Your sick twisted smile" which i find is what draws me to the song along with the last verse of the song which really speaks to me.

Not the only band with talent these days, to contradict what Arch said, but I heard the single and I liked this. I might go out and buy the album, or just download it like mostly everyone else does these days.

Listening to the album now. The single wasn't that great. This album reminds me of Phobia.
I like how the album likes to point out that it's Breaking Benjamin's 4th album. XD Dear Agony is a really good title. @-@

Benjamin seems to be venting these songs towards someone. Has anyone else noticed it like with "had enough" and "lights out" ?

So I listened to the album. It's very boring, generic and seems very uninspired. Same ol' songs, same ol' lyrics about the same ol' thing. Good job, Breaking Benjamin. You still suck.

Breaking Benjamin just sounds like a mesh of sound with a lead singer to me. I do like the new single and I did like Diary of Jane. For some reason, they tend to have singles that are better than their entire career. I honestly listened to other songs to try and form an opinion, but I stopped and said, "This is pure shit to me."

To agree with Royale, aside from this new single, congratulations Breaking Benjamin, you still suck.
