Yeah, I'm not really sure that this belongs here (or that some of you will understand this). But I've recently found my brothers old Nintendo Entertainment System in the closet, and I'm just not sure if it’s safe to use the "Game Genie" (basically the 1980's version of a codebreaker) on it. It seems that it would bend the connectors in the back of the system, and make impossible to run a game unless it is present. So anyway, will the game genie harm the nes at all if I use it? Any thoughts/suggestions/etc. will be appreciated. Thanks!

It'll more than likely be just fine. It was probably designed with that in mind. If you want to be safe though you could replace the 64-pin connecter to make sure that there's as littl time aging on it as possible.

    72-Pin.

Its just that the thing is that it's an unliscensed cartridge, and that some unliscensed hardware is sometimes dangerous. I'll just keep an eye on it. Thanks!

Btw, THIS is what made me uncertain. (read the last part of the first paragraph on the NES section)
