Bleach. Yay for mainstream anime/manga and overpowered characters.

Death Note - Phycological thriler mixed with Gothic undertones. A masterpiece not only in art but in strory and dialogue.

Angel Beats - Still only released in Japan, but another goody. I've only seen a few of the epiosdes but the finale will definately make you cry if you watch the right episodes.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Probably one of the strangest and funniest shows that I have seen to date. You'll constantly be wondering what's going on and be laughing through the majority of the episodes. The story is also something to indulge yourself in as well.

Rosario + Vampire - This one, I recommend the manga version. Kinda the same plot as Twilight, but better done and filled with human and *cough*panty shots*cough**cough*. It'll make you wonder why you're watching it, but you want to know what happens next.

Ouran High School Host Club- (first fangirls, :P) Generally decribed as a Shojo anime, it actually packs a lot humor. A strange comedic romance story centered around wierd events at a Rich High School and not so nomral students. A definite must watch (if you can look pass the yaoi for the first few episodes). Plus, the main chick is acutually a real inviting character.

    Golden Boy .
Its very adult btw. But its hilarious, especially the dub. Heck I think it only consists of OVAs.

But yeah, all of mine are mostly shounen, action/adventure, some romantic comedy, fighting, etc.
Some are more violent than others, Black Lagoon is probably one of the more adult ones.

I was about to say that one. DDDX

But there's Black Cat, D.N. Angel (Watch it in Japanese, trust me), and of course Ouran Highschool Host Club was mentioned. Also I watched a little bit of this anime called Peacemakers. It looks okay. And Vampire Knight.

    My top three suggestions:
    Evangelion
    Trigun
    Cowboy Bebop

These are the best of the best in my opinion.

I' m backing up Neon Genesis Evangelion too. It' s even smarter than FMA, and it' s short (22 episodes and one OVA).

There' s also GTO Great Teacher Onizuka, which is sort of smart (in its own way) and damn funny.

Oh hey! I just thought of a perfect one for Halloween if you're looking for monthly themes.

Watch Ghost Hunt late at night if you want to get freaked out and stuff. Trust me. It's the best. I've watched it three times all the way through, and it still doesn't cease to bore me.

This one you can't really explain without giving the whole plot away. Let's just say there's a team of people that go in to check out strange occurances that are reported to be ghosts. Sometimes it's a ghost problem... sometimes it's not. Sometimes it's something much worse.
