i own this game as well. my feelings about it are a bit mixed though.

i'm unhappy about removing the cinematic boss battles because to me, that's what the Storm games were about. i also don't like all the gaping holes in the narrative. though, some of the anime scenes are REALLY cool.

but i AM happy about the large roster of characters. i am also glad that they seem to have done a good job in re-balancing the game since Storm 2. when playing online mode, i've encountered people trying the same cheap tactics in Storm 2 only to find that they don't work nearly as well as they used to. i really like that being on the offense is rewarded instead of turtling because a fighting game is about, well.... fighting. i have gotten quite a few rage quitters who disconnected on purpose just when my Ultimate Jutsu was finishing them off though.

so, i guess the story mode suffers in this Storm game but everything else seems really good.

I've been looking forward to this game for a while. I have yet to go pick it up, though. The graphics look amazing, as a Storm game should, and from the demo, it seems they've changed some things for the better. I like that there's a substitution meter, that way you don't get substitution spammed online.

I have to ask, though: Are the Storm 1 characters' Ultimate Jutsu's altered due to the shortening of Ultimates in Storm 2?

I did not play Storm 1, however, I checked out some of the Ult. Jutsu's, and they seem to have been shortened, but they still look amazing.

And @ Evilman, I actually preferred this story mode, because it focuses more on the actual story rather than the battles. Generations is meant to be more of a multiplayer game, considering there are 70+ characters you can play, all of which gets unlocked by playing the story.

I've been playing tons, and I'm loving the hell out of it. The survival mode is quite difficult at the higher levels.

I believe the large roster makes everyone happy.
Hoping characters are balanced so there isn't that one over powered character.

From what I've experienced of Online play, they are well balanced. Though I think the faster hitting ones have an upper hand. Of course, it all depends on your skill. I haven't exactly won a lot online, as there is more to learn than you'd think.

yea, they have been shortened, but they're still mostly the best Ultimate Jutsus you'll see in the game despite that. most of the time, they just skip to the climax of the original UJ.

what's funny is that i still see people trying to substitution spam only to find that it makes it that much easier to beat them, lol
that's true, the emphasis was clearly put on multiplayer mode. the multiplayer mode is pretty good. today i entered an online tournament and it was fun watching other people fall for the same tricks over and over again XD
