Name Initials Influence You?

Oh.. now what I HAVE heard about in my current issues class is that some people won't hire you in the business world because your name sounds lazy. like someone with the name "Joseph" is more likely to be hired than a person with the name "Tom."

I'm not sure if THAT is true either, though. It was just something my teacher kinda brought up for fun and she said "I'm dead serious its true." but I don't know what her source was.

Hmm.. I should try and look that up.

 

I think a name doesn't influences your abilities

My initials have a C and I don't really fail at school at all.

It all depends on what you choose to be and what you work hard with.

Just saying.

 

I think this is just superstition. I don't think that your initials have anything to do with your academic or social behavior. The only thing that can actually have an impact on these things would probably your personal lifestyle.

However, I guess if you start actually believing this sort of thing, then your brain is going to be so into it that yoou'll make yourself believe it, and that in turn could just mess with your self-esteem or boost it (depending on whatever the person's initials are supposed to mean). It think it's mainly just some kind of reverse psychology.

 

Well reverse psychology is a form of persuasion in most cases that's intended to gain some form of favour using minimal resistance- if any at all. If anything this would be more of a type of reinforcement or handicapping, depending on how you look at it. But in the end it really depends on how you allow your surroundings and other associations affect you.

 

I don't see this playing much of a role. Firstly cause my name is Kyle and I suck at baseball. Secondly that wouldn't have much effect cause these are things that we learn later on in life it is not something that we are programmed to know at birth or not till young adolesent years. Society and Family teach us what what things we have, as well as our athletic ablity and our study skills. Now granted that is as well genetic it is also taught to us. So no, I don't feel this makes any impact.

 

i could care less if my initals were JS instead of BB. initials dont affect you, unless someone else tells you they do, you belleive it, and yous trive to make it true.

 

My initials are LOL. And I'm serious.

I don't think Initials have a huge effect, if they have any effect, on what you accomplish or how you act. I mean, subconsciously you might behave a bit differently or something, but if you want to accomplish something, if your name started with Z, I doubt you'd feel held back or something.

Don't think so... my name starts with J, but here in Finland it even couldn't affect to you grades if this would be true and you name starts with an A... So in other words in Finland it wouldn't help you at all.

 

Mmm... I think that's simply silly; if you think that since you have a 'C' or 'D' name you'll achieve only the corresponding letter grade, then you deserve to fail. No, you deserve to phail.

 

I still think this is funny... I mean my name starts with a C and i'm getting B's........... unless my name is Bathie??
