I hate windows 7 because 1. Nothing works on the system 2. None of my old games work 3. Hardly any downloads work 4. It's difficult to do anything on it 5. It's difficult to find anything in the control panel 6. It doesn't have a search 7. I can't find anything I download What are your thoughts on the subject?
Hmm...I've never had that many problems...However there have been some. 1: I wouldn't say nothing, but there are some things. 2: No comment since I don't have any "old" games. 3: Never had that problem before... 4: That I agree on. 5: Again, I agree. 6: I just looked I have a search....And yes I am using windows 7. 7: I use Chrome's "Open Containing Folder" option for that. Just my 2cents.
Nothing being what? I just installed Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. Works fine. If you want to run DOS games, install DOS-Box. Otherwise, there is a "Run this program in compatability mode for:" option in the properties, under compatibility. What downloads are you talking about? It's exactly the same as previous versions of Windows, except it looks nicer and has better stuff, mostly. The search box exists for a reason. Try opening the start menu. It's right above the Windows circle. Most things default to the directory of 'C:\Users\(your user log on)\Downloads' Try there first. Personally, I find Windows 7 to be a decent improvement of the older OS's. Admittedly, it does seem quite similar to Vista. I've had it installed for about 7 months now, and I haven't had any disk errors, or crashes of the system. Everything has been positioned really well, and I can rarely not find something.
1. Nothing works on the system Except with very old software, I've had no problems what so ever. 2. None of my old games work Many of my old games work for me 3. Hardly any downloads work All of my legit downloads work 4. It's difficult to do anything on it Depends what you mean, some things might be a bit tedious, but I believe it's the OS you can do the most with 5. It's difficult to find anything in the control panel Not if you get to know it 6. It doesn't have a search Yes it does. 7. I can't find anything I download That's not the computers fault, as it is you who choose the destination folder I really like W7, I find it to be very smooth and as long as you take the time to get to know the OS (as in where to find stuff), its in my opinion the[/e] best OS out there.
Fixed that for you. All Windows computers tend to leave me feeling like this, although my problems aren't as numerous as yours. (Although usually they're just as severe, if not more so.) It'd probably get better if I were to spend more time on them, but for now, they're rather unworkable for me. At some point, I expect I'll try out either Windows, or I'll switch to Linux. If I'm receiving hand-me-downs from my father, then I'll happily use Mac OS X, but if I'm buying my own, I'm going for the cheap stuff.
I've never had a problem with Windows 7 1. Everything works on the system. (For me anyway) 2. All of my old games work. (Same as above) 3. I've never had a problem downloading stuff. 4. It's easy to use and do stuff one it. 5. The control panel is easy to navigate. In fact if you're having problems, you can change it back to the old view from previous systems anyway. 6. It does have a search actually. 7. You can find stuff you've downloaded in the downloads folder, or wherever you chose to save it when you started the download. I've had Windows 7 since it came out, and personally, I think it's the best thing since XP considering Vista sucked.
Certainly a very harsh review xD If you hate it so much just go back to Windows XP. 1. Everything works fine, make sure your programs are compatible with Windows 7 and that you run as 'Administrator' 2. I'm not too sure about this since i don't have any old games but a simple google search might help you out! 3. Again, make sure it's compatible. 4. I think your exaggerating xD 5. You get used to it after a while. 6. There's a search tool on the right top hand corner of every tab -.-; 7. In your browser, change your download location in settings!
I've had XP, Vista, and 7 and I've found that more works on 7 than did on Vista. The only real problem I had with OS incompatibility was an old printer/scanner combo I had laying around that never got drivers for Windows 7. Everything else has worked well. Unfortunately legacy games are not going to be guaranteed to work with every new OS. It's just not possible. But there are work arounds and solutions to get them going--I know with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I had to install & configure it specially to get it working on Windows 7, but now it's running pretty flawlessly. Your downloads not working could be due to a myriad of things, I really doubt it's the OS's fault. I actually find things a lot easier to do, the UI is very clean and user-friendly, and there are tons of great ways to customize it to suit your workflow. I've never had that problem, as others have said you can change the views, and worst comes to worst, just use the search box. Yes it does. o: If anything you've got to search the hardest for the searchbox in XP. The Windows 7 one is right there in the start menu, and is at the top of every Windows Explorer window. That's something you have to configure in your browser. Nothing is going to work perfectly for you right out of the box. You've got to take sometime to set up your programs & UI to make things work well for you. Once you do though Windows 7 is an amazing OS.
Looks like you're not using Windows 7, but Windows Crap. xD Windows 7 is not bad. You need to have some sort of experience to use it as it is intended to be used tho, and the only reason is that it has loads of features that make it look confusing. You think Windows XP didn't have bugs? It has had 3 service packs. -_-' And I recently updated my windows 7 with its first service pack. Come in 5-6 years, and if the games produced at that time are not working with your Windows 7, then complain about it. But don't expect them to be perfect. Linux is so much better, simply because it is open source. Windows isn't.
I like W7 more than XP in a number of ways. A few problems are negligible. But it's a new and the latest OS of Windows. It's going to out do the XP in a couple years or more. Whether you hate it or not, if you wanna keep using Windows products you gonna have to work on it and learn to live with it. Or just wait for Windows 8.
