    English I Sarah C. Epling

    Jenki

    Day 1

It all began at Jenki. The job I had made me travel around, but this was the farthest I have ever been. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by friendly locals. They showed me around, and where to deliver the package, I was assigned to bring. My job as a delivery person, made me travel a lot, and I suspect this will be my longest ever. It was a family business, and I always wanted an adventure. The package ended up being delivered to a woman named Casey. It’s very late, and I plan to rest up for the next day.

    Day 2

It is early, and I just awoke from my slumber. I plan to explore more today. I have traveled around for miles, and I have gotten more supplies for my trip. I travel alone, unfortunate for me. The forests here have many fruits, and the river is full of fresh water. I have essentials; I just need food and water.

A few hours have passed, and I am heading back to my ship. It is very hard for just one person to sail, but I manage. I plan to leave not today, but the following day. Today, I shall just relax. A few local children play around on the beach. I love seeing them play around, and having fun. It reminds me of the time when I was younger. It would not be too long ago, as I am just a child myself.

It is starting to get late, and I have had a rough day. Gathering the supplies and watching the children play. I will get some sleep soon, and then head out tomorrow morning early. But before bed, I will say this. This will be one of the most adventurous adventures I will have.

    Day 3

It is morning. I wake up with the sun shining bright in my eyes. I felt so tired, and sleeping on a ship rocking, is not exactly what you call comfort. I fix the sail on the ship and I untied the rope. I waved to all of the locals. The woman, whom I gave a package to, ran in front of the crowd. She held in her hand, her own wrapped package wrapped in leaves and rope. She threw it onto my ship. I picked it up and noticed it was a pair of Sais blades. A note attached.

“Thank you for the package. I give these to you for your safe trip homeâ€

I felt happy, and I was very excited to now have my own weapon. The boat took me out to sea, and I knew this was only the beginning. I set my coordinates to home.

Hours have passed, and now it looks stormy. The clouds were very dark and the waves rocking the boat harder than usual. I am sitting down and I feel very uneasy. I shall wait and see what happens.

    Day 4

I was correct. Yesterday was a very stormy day. I have yet to see any sign of land. I look and look, but no land has come forth to my sight so far. I worry. The waves have more than likely took me off course. I wonder, what will happen next? That is the question that I will ask myself until I get home.

Hours continue to pass. There is not much I can write about. Just that I continue heading the way I hope that will lead me home

    Valley of Lost Emotions

    Day 5

I soon see land. What was this place? Who lived here? What adventures must I face here?
I soon set my boat up at the docks. The place seemed lifeless. No life was anywhere. The environment seemed okay, mostly grassland. I soon set miles up a large hill. Once at the top, the wind seemed very calm, but blew at a steady pace. I was worried. I looked down and saw a village. I saw many villagers hanging about.

I walked down the hill and chat along with them. Their manners, and first impressions, were not very polite. They seemed emotionless. But one child was brave enough, to talk to me. He explained to me that this place was cursed. A spell set upon it.

No emotions have set over for years and years to come. Outsiders only knew what emotion’s felt like. The boy asked me for help. A witch named Ariel cast the spell more than fifty years ago, using her charmed voice. I did not want to get into any trouble, or any other complications. I explained simply to the boy that I was only trying to reach home. He told me that Ariel would know where to find someone who could get me home. I decided I would rest up for a while, and then go

A while has passed. The sun is hidden in the clouds, so I won’t have to worry about heat. It would be a few more hours until the sun sets. I spent most of the day with that boy, allowing him to explain to me what has happened here in the past. I found out that Ariel was the Witch of Time. I thanked the small boy, and I planned to talk to him tomorrow and let him lead me to the home of Ariel, but now, I must go home and rest.

    Day 6

I awoke in midday. I was much rested, and I felt wonderful. That was the first part. I walked out of the ship, and back to town. The small boy met me at a well. He showed me the way to her home, which was a cave a few miles away. We started walking up a path, until we reached a cave a few miles away from the village. He turned back and walked home, after dropping me off.

I stepped to the door, and inside was a room, filled with beauty. The rocks were covered in soft moss. A bed laid in what seemed to be in another room, and the largest room, seemed like a battling room. I looked around, and saw Ariel, walking from one smaller room, over to the center. She asked for my name. I answered Sarah, and I waited for her response. She smiled, but not evilly, not sinisterly. I was curious.

She explained to me that I should leave. I told her no. I wanted to get home, and I needed guidance. She laughed hysterically. She told me that once I reach the village it would rain, and each raindrop, will restore back the spell she created. No one has ever bothered to come up, and face her. She was not heartless, just lonely, and she had no emotion either.

She showed me, and even explained to me that I must head for the Cavern of Mixed Memories, in order to find her sister, a Witch of the Seven Elemental Crystals. She wanted to rule the world at one time, but failed, due to being imprisoned in stone. Once released, she would be my responsibility, and I must take action and cast her in that stone, once more.

Once one of the seven crystals is removed from the surrounding stone, she will become human once again. But once it is put back, she shall become stone once more. I thanked Arial, and headed out. Once upon arrival at the town, it rained, just as she said. All the villagers came out and became happy, once again. I took my leave, and headed back for the ship. There I stay, until tomorrow.

    Cavern of Lost Memories

    Day 7

It’s been a week, since I’ve seen home, and already I’ve traveled so long. I wanted to be able to get home as son as possible, but I must travel farther and longer, to get home.

It was storm-less today. I do not suppose I will see any land for a few days, so I do not plan to watch the ocean in hopes of seeing land.

    Day 9

I skipped yesterday because nothing exciting happened, but my hypothesis was correct. Today I spotted land, a large rocky structure. The description fit the details of The Cavern of Mixed Memories. I soon sail my ship into a large opening, and I was now in the cave. I was stopped by the rising land, so I set it there. I jumped from the boat onto a large rocky that was a path going throughout the cave.

I walked along the path for hours. I remember the markings on the walls so I would not get lost.

It ended up becoming pitch dark in there after wandering around for all day, so I planned on resting, but the waters from the cave kept me up

    Day 10

I finally wake up after getting a few hour good rests, from waking up all night.

I started exploring, until I finally made it to the center, where I saw the stone of a woman. I expected it to be Arial’s sister, due to seeing seven crystals lined in a circular emotion. I pulled out the white orb, which had a snowflake symbol above it. I suspected it represented ice. The stone woman became human, just by changing of appearance. She looked like Arial’s’ twin. Long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a long white dress.

She asked me my name, and I once again had to introduce myself. I told her my name, and she wondered why I disturbed her. I explained I was told she knew the way for me to go home. She said she didn’t, but that she also knew someone. I was getting tired of traveling and going to useless places. She told me that one person knew the way. She then told me to go to another country, The Forest of No Return, to find a woman named Jules. I was getting a bit exhausted from the names of the countries, because I knew they meant trouble. I thanked the Witch of the Elements, and cast her back upon in the stone replacing the crystal within.

I walked back the pathway to the ship. Once again it got pitch dark, and I set down for the night

    Day 11

I woke up once more on another restless night. I headed for the ship, and I finally made it after hours of walking. I decided that I would go ahead and take my leave. I got the ship unstuck on the rising land, and I made way for the new country.

    The Forest of No Return

    Day 15

Days have passed. It has now been Two weeks since I’ve seen home. I’ve not written because I have been resting more, from lack of sleep. I finally arrive at a forest area. The place is very small, but seemed so big. I traveled along everywhere and couldn’t find anyone. I soon see someone in a lake that I passed. I walked over and saw a young girl in the water. She was a mermaid. I was stunned. She was such a beautiful creature out in the open. I greeted her and introduced myself.

Her name was Nicole. She was hiding from the demons, and demon slayers. I was confused. She explained that they have been at war for a few years. Her and her “people†are in hiding, because the lake, which is connected to the river, helps separate the lands. Some demons are terrible creatures, but some others want the war to end. They were raised to hate humans, but they know the same was taught to the humans about demons.

I felt bad. I asked her to talk to a woman names Jules. She explained to me that she was neither Demon slayer, nor Demon. She was actually one woman, trying to stop the wars.

She lives in a small cabin house close to the river, a few miles downstream. Nicole offered to take me there. I nodded, and walked along the banks of the river as she swam downstream.

As we continued our walk I noticed that she seemed worried. I felt a presence upon us. I looked around, and I saw a demon in the air flying. Demons looked like humans, only just different. Like vampires to humans, only they didn’t have white pale skin, and they didn’t suck our blood. They had the fangs as a feature, and also wings. Bat wings.

Nicole explained that if I did not bother them, they wouldn’t start a fight with me. I was happy to hear that.

We finally made it down to the cabin, and I had never felt so relieved. Nicole told me to knock a few times, and wait for her to answer. She is a very nice woman, and she will help. Nicole then swam back upstream to the lake.

I stood silent, waiting, as I knocked on the door. I could hear footsteps, and fairly loud crashing. She answered the door lightly. She asked if she could be of assistance.

I nodded and explained the situation. She said she had not the time to help me. I explained how long I have traveled and how far I have been.

She didn’t find that amusing, or impressive. She has been traveling for years to come, and has been in the middle of a war ever since the beginning. She told me to find home, I must look deep in my heart. I must want to find home. She said head east, and in a few days I shall find home.

I nodded but before she closed the door I had one more question. How did the war start? After asking her this, she explained she caused it. Her research on both demon’s and demon slayers both started. Both are suffering and dying because she never thought of any as different.

I explained to her, let them work it out, and let them talk amongst themselves, and one day, there will be peace.

    Day 16

I finally hoped this would be the day. The day I go home. I packed up my ship and headed out the next day. I talked to a few demons, demon slayers, and other mythical creatures. They would all talk to one another, and would try to come to a compromise.

The waters seemed calm, and I headed out, for Arialiana.

    Arialiana

    Day 20

Days have passed, until I finally saw it

I saw the land I have been traveling almost three weeks to get home to. I know that I have not had the most dangerous, or the longest adventure in the world, but it was a worth while for me.

I arrived in the docks, where I was greeted by the locals. My parents were working in the gardens right by there, so they saw me coming in.
This is my last journal entry for the adventure.

I have learned a lot. Home is most precious. I loved having an adventure, but wandering away from home, will lead you no where.

My parents took me home, and let me rest for a while, where I had not got a good sleep in three weeks. After awaking, both parents went to the market, and left me home alone. I looked around the home, and took in its beauty.

Were all my friends here? Were they not worried about my return home? How did my parents feel when I left? How did al the locals feel when I set off.
These questions I will ask myself continuously, until I find the answers.
I walked around the streets, watching how much has stayed the same, and how much has changed.

I go around, and see my old friends. I loved to see them in excitement that I came back.

I explained to them of my adventure.

From Jenki, I showed them the Sais blades that the woman tossed upon my ship.
I told them of how the locals of The Valley of Lost Emotion’s felt nothing, and had no emotions. I told them of Arial, The Witch of Time.
From The Cavern of Mixed Memories, I told them about the twin sister of Arial, whom was the Witch of the Seven Elemental Crystals.
From the Forest of No Return, I explained how I found of mythical creatures, and how the was going on. I explained how I got home.

All of my friends asked me so many questions. More than I could answer.

I felt terrible though. I seen four different places and I had yet to do anything about my job. Other than deliver the package.

I went home after hours of explaining my adventure around the town.
I soon fell asleep and rested up for the next day, for now I am home, and I have had enough adventures for a while.

Life is like a flower. Protect it, cherish it, and keep it alive for its radiant beauty. But unable to keep it healthy can react to withering.
My adventure, has finally, came to an end.
