We've gone over this. I hate him (not as a person obviously, but as a horrible actor liked only because of his appearance)

 

I dunno about his acting skills (I've only seen him in Step Up I think? lol. which probably should not be used even in the same sentence as acting, unless the word "bad" precedes it), but I find him so like... boring? It seems like every little bit of him is just reeking of "I AM ATTRACTIVE" and it's just so overdone ;~;

relevant because I know a lot of people who went to see Magic Mike for Channing Tatum's backside

 

Yeah, that too. He's pretty much a G.I. Joe come to life (ha ha ha he was in that movie and it sucked)

And...they show more than just the back...I've heard enough from some women who've seen it x.x

 

Ahh didn't know that. Regardless, I think Channing Tatum's bod in general was 99% of their reasons.

 

He really isn't a great actor; he's mainly used as eye candy for girls (The Vow, Magic Mike), which is basically rediculous pandering.

Surprisingly, he was okay in "21 Jump Street" (and the fact that the movie was actually very good was much more surprising). He knows how to convey emotion with his voice, but his face is just solid for the entire film. Something exciting happens, same dull face; something mind blowing happens, same dull face. I love the film, but I keep yelling at the screen, telling him to emote. It's acting 101.

Of course, the movie does make fun of how he's just stupid eye candy. In an early scene, the Police Chief (played by Ice Cube) at the 21 Jump Street church tells everyone to embrace their stereotypes. He points out Tatum's character and says "Look at this guy. He's tall, athletic, and probably a dummy". I guess Tatum seemed really good in that film because his character was written around the way he "acted".

SOME of us don't make a big song and dance about a name change, MIKE.

 

In some dialects of Chinese the word that we translate as ugly is actually more literally formed from words that mean hard to look at. I really like this definition. So unless I find someone that literally makes me avert my eyes whenever I see them, I won't call them ugly. That said. Channing Tatum is pretty much just unattractive. That's it. He doesn't look handsome or pretty. He looks boring, homely, unimpressive. So think average but inferior in every way. Also, he doesn't have a very athletic build, he's got that ****** looking "presentation" muscle.
