    Lately, my keyboard (a wireless Logitech) has been acting screwy. Sometimes it will act as if the battery power is extremely low, only processing each, like, 5th letter I type, sometimes it gets a lot worse. I'll check the battery power, and it'll say it's perfectly fine. At first, I thought it was just my interwebz connection being boggy, but it's starting to happen when I'm offline, too. I tried troubleshooting at several sites, but the only results I get are for keyboards that are entirely not working. Someone please help, before resort to smashing my only "working" keyboard?

    might be a virus because of the "working" part you said so it must be spreading

    FUUUUU- virus scanning now.

    Although, I don't think it's a virus. The symptoms are on-and-off, and I only just noticed it happening offline because I'm rarely offline. But I'm not very savvy with what viruses do and don't do.

    Thanks, though. *still scanning*

    Nah, can't be a virus. Does it have a receiver that plugs into a USB? Check the receiver, and check the port, make sure none of the pins are snapped, clean them with an eyeglass cloth to get rid of any dust. Try maybe having the receiver in another port. You say it gets boggy, perhaps the port's too slow for the kind of output the keyboard is for. My external drive has to use the two ports in the back of my laptop because of their speed and the type of job it's meant to do.

    Might also have a failing USB port, in which case it might not be the keyboard. See what happens if you try to use that port for something else.

    I know this is a stupid question, and this deserves a stupid answer, and I'll probably get derepped for this, but did you change the battery?

    You might be right. Now that I think about it, my wireless mouse has been doing something similar as my keyboard. They might be connected to the same USB port.

    lol no. It takes a gazillion batteries, and it says the battery power is still good.

    Ah ha. Interference. Your mouse signals are getting mixed in with those of the keyboard. Swap 'em around and see what that does.

    Not enough room for that (don't ask about the physics of that, there just isn't). ;~;

    Thanks so much for your help. :=D: I'll get my dad to look at the USB port that it's connected to (because I have absolutely no idea where it's plugged into and I'd probably break something if I tried).

    No problem.:) And that sounds like a plan. That's the only thing I could think of, is either the port's dusty or the interference thing.

    Problem solved! Turns out there was clutter and other shiz blocking the signal. At least I think so. I cleaned off the disaster zone that is this desk a little to try to find where the mouse/keyboard connector was. I didn't find it, but my keyboard and mouse are working great now. ::L:
