my first 'Tales of' game

Just purchased Tales of Xillia and Symphonia Chronicles.

Not really sure what to expect, but fingers crossed i'll enjoy 'em.

 

Symphonia is considered one of the best among the fans. It's a good one to play first as you won't be spoiled by the different gameplay mechanics that the others have. Basically the other Tales games have you running around the battlefield doing as you please, but in Symphonia you can literally just run back and forward as you hack away at enemies. It also has one of the better stories. Xillia is good too, as much as it is rather barebones content-wise. Enjoy!

 

The only ones I've ever played are Symphonia and Phantasia. Both fantastic.

 

I'd say you need to get Vesperia aswell but it's foolishly only on Xbox in english release, the ps3 never saw a release outside of Japan, which is ****** because it's the better version. Hoping they might re-release it on ps4 or some ****.

 

i wish but microsoft bought a lifetime licence for the game it probably won't....;_; cried over this so many times wishing it had been released on ps3 outside of japan...

 

You know Vesperia's story was good an all (actually it tripped me out), but there were some parts that I didn't really agree on. I didn't feel any closure after beating the game, and there were some major parts that I felt was just brushed aside and never mentioned again.

 

You basically bought two opposite ends of a spectrum, in terms of Tales games

I'm still planning to play Tales of Xillia and Symphonia. The only Tales game that I ever played now is Tales of the Abyss.

You should play Abyss. I wouldn't call it the best Tales game, but it's got a nice moral point of stuff to it.

Reminds me that I still have Veserpia to play. I just got the part where you can fly around, but never got back on after. Though anything on the 360 makes it hard for me to play. I just do not like that system

Oh, something I can play on the PS2. Sounds fun.

 

Legendia has 2D gameplay, crazy character designs, great music, and was made by the Soul Calibur team. Very fun.

 

So basically, it's a lot like playing Valkyrie Profile 2

 

AND WAS MADE FOR PEASANTS

Legendia's okay tho, it just doesn't stack up to most of the other titles, Abyss and Symphonia are the two best entries in the series, I feel.
