I have a older brother, whose two years older than me and he's in the army. Last week, he went overseas to the Middle East, and I am concerned because you hear on the news about all these soldiers dying in Iraq, and I know my brother will go there as well, though he won't be over there long. But I'm worried that when he does go to Iraq, he might get wounded badly or worse. I pray for him every night, but I need more support.

well, he should get time to call you every now and then, so don't worry.

And what does he do exactly in the army? Because my brother joined the air force but when he left for deployment he was a Crew Chief so he didn't have to worry about anything. Actually, he just got home yesterday.
Anyways, just pray, and send letters or something

Yes, just keep praying, and think happy thoughts. And don't worry, I'll be praying for your brother's safety as well:)

What you're feeling is completely natural, all families of soldiers go through this.

Keep thinking positively, pray for him if that comforts you, and talk to your other family members about it, even friends (especially if they happen to be in the same situation). Write him e-mails (or letters if he happens to be in a position where he can't access the internet).

I hope he returns safely home.

really? I didn't feel much different when my brother left. Maybe that's just because I knew he wasn't doing any fighting, but whatever.
How long is he going to be overseas for? Maybe you can ask your brother to come visit when he gets back, because they usually should get about a months of break to visit families

Don't worry, he will call you when he can. My older brother didn't go to army, so i can't know how you're feeling... But still i can imagine how it is.
Hey, i'll pray for him too, "keep with happy thoughts", right?

My sister is leaving for the army this September, so I kind of feel your worry.
We're not sure if she will, or ever will be sent overseas, but I'm still worried about her. She's going to be doing this thing, I forget the technical term, but she shoots missles 'n stuff out of this thingy.
Just hope for the best, and it all depends really on what job he'll be doing.

Another thing that could help you, OP, is taking one of his belongings, such as a teddy bear or something, and fall asleep hugging it when you go to bed.
