So I want actual opinioins on this, not a quick on line. "I hate [music genre] cause it sucks!!!11111!. Give why you dislike it.

Now personally I do not like country, screamo, and techno. Mostly cause when I look at music I see two things something to relate to, or something to dance to. Now, Country music is kinda eh, to me I don't relate to it in anyway, though there is some that does sound good it is nothing that I can listen to. Screamo, I can't relate to something I can understand, plus its not why I listen to music. And Techno, I just can't get into it, just does not interest me at all, which is odd since I can listen to house music all day, or some guys stratching or instrumental.

What about you guys, what do you dislike?

Country is one of them. I heard the lyrics are good, but I don't feel it. It's more of a lonesome song. It also depends on what type of mood your in =\

That's probably the only genre I don't like. If opera counts, I dislike that too. Vocals are very important and can be very nice to listen to, but when the vocals get too high...it gets me off my limit.

    Rap music.

I actually hate it with a passion. They all sound the same to me, and 99.9% of their songs are about being "gangsta", or "smack dat hoez аss, bіtch." They're not really creative with the beats, either. It's usually just the same hooks used over and over repetitively.

I completely agree with that. >_<

I'd have to say American country as well; I used to be a huge fan, but recently, the majority of their songs are no longer about America, but about going to Mexico. Pardon me, but I thought country music was supposed to be about your country?

Agreed. In my opinion, rap is an absolute mess, and I can't for the life of me see why it's so popular.

Other than that, there's no music genre I really don't like. Granted, there are some genres I don't listen to much (country, for example), but that doesnt necessarily mean I don't like them. And of course for every genre there are a few exceptions, i.e., I hate all but two of Simple Plan's songs.

I also like to have music with depth, so extremely happy/shallow music tends to get on my nerves sometimes (i.e., a lot of Cascada's music:
    "I need a miracle
I want to be your girl
Give me a chance to see
That you are made for me"
). I'll listen to them sometimes, especially if they're dance and I'm feeling tired or stressed, but otherwise I try to avoid them these days.

If you haven't heard all 100% of rap music, your not one to say. It's like saying an opinion from thin air. If you've ever listened to Eminem? Tupac? It's not all rich and fly ****. It's pretty hardcore lifestyle. They reminiscence about their past and what they've been through. I do agree that many of the songs are all about what you said. 50 Cent is probably noted for that tbh. The hooks flow with the music itself, and even though it stays the same...it's basically a theme of the song. It's different from rock, where the music's beat constantly changes according to the musicians.

I dislike County, because I just can't relate to it. I also dislike the screaming rock n' roll because it all sounds the same to me.

And to those of you who dislike rap, you have not actualy lisened to all the rap. Just as there is different types of rock there is different types of rap. The kind you are thinking of is the gangster rap and the stuff people dance to at club and stuff. Try KanYe West, Common, and Lupe Fiasco. I have a feeling that you may like them.

Yea honestly everyone who is saying that all rap sucks hardcore is not a completely true statement. Yea that is a lot of rap out there that is just about 'smackin' *****es and hoez' but there is also alot that isn't. The thing is that much of that isn't heard alot of the time because some of it is so controversial. I have preached this many times before, that a guy names Immortal Technique has sung about some real stuff, but he is not that greatly known, the same goes for Sweatshop Union and many others. It sucks that so much of a demographic is judging on they hear on the radio. Which I can't agree with, that **** that is found on the radio most of the time isn't as great, but I would still prefer it over alot of crap that rock bands put out these days.

I don't like most Metal, Screaming Rock n' Roll and Rap music.

Mmm... I'm just not a fan of those genres.

Metal and Screaming Rock n' Roll to me seems like a "blow out your eardrums and vocal chords" type of thing. =/ I've even been told that I could join a Rock Band on account of my loud voice... I do like some of those kinds of songs, but it's because of the lyrics.

Rap music. I've heard some OKAY rap songs... However, it really wasn't enough to get me to change my opinion. I just think that it's just words to a beat. I mean, I like the beats, but not the lyrics/words that go with them (most of the kids around hear listen to rap music with way too much profanity; it drives me insane sometimes).

Don't hate me for not liking Rap Music and all. I do think there are some nice rap songs out there, but it doesn't outweigh my distaste for it.

There is only two that I dislike. Country and heavy metal.

I actually hate country with the intensity of a thousand burning suns. I can't stand it. Just everything about it is a phailure to music, IMO. The lyrics, the intruments, overall sound, AND THOSE VOICES. Ugh, they drive me insane.

Heavy metal, I just dislike. I mean, I'm sure I can listen to it for a while but it's not like I'll go download songs. It's mostly because of that incessant drumming that won't EVER end. It's like DURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURUDURU.

So yes, those are my two hates of music.

Hm...Techno is one, but only techno that doesn't have any vocals. I find it gets a little boring or repetitive, and vocals seem to add some juice to it.

Mainstream rap is another. Not all of it, some mainstream artists are good. The ones that rap about money, and things such as that. I will admit some of those songs can be catchy, though.

Some screamo music I can handle, when they sing and scream, but if it's just screaming the whole time, it gets on my nerves and it's just annoying to listen to constantly.

Hmm...Can't really think of anything else at the moment. May edit later with more.

    Shew, must I get started...?

    Okay:

Heavy metal is so loud and full of hatred to me. It just seems pointless to scream at people about yourself instead of just singing it like everyone else! Biggest problem for me is my brother listens to it. Big arguments come from us....

I don't really like Techno usually. It just all depends on what effects they use. And how it sounds... I can't really tell much, tbh.

Pop. Eeeww.... just too energetic and bleh! No offense to anybody, but most people that sing that stuff to me seems kinda..... weird... 0-o I just can't stand listening to pop...

    - SOME country music. like hillbilly-sih xD. but I still do like some country, like The Wreckers or Sheryl Crow.

    - I actually like screamo. not like A LOT of screams, but a bit is okay.

    - I like hip hop. seriously, anything dance-able. BUT i hate poser crap like Soulja Boy, or 50 Cent, because they can't rap. They just talk really fast. In my opinion, music has to touch atleast one person. Like touch their feelings. And NO "Super soak that hoe" does not touch anyone, except maybe some pervy 40 year old virgins.

    - I hate some DJ mashups, since some don't do it right.

    - Some pop, like when the artists have distorted voices. that doesn't mean they can sing *paris hilton//britneyspears//etc*

    - OMG I HATE REGGAE. Sorry. I just don't like it =/
thats pretty much it. I like a lot of music :3

I hate the rap music that you guys deemed 'gangsta rap', but I don't mind the real rap. I wouldn't listen to it, but I prefer it to the crap they play on the radio. Country is annoying as well. Bluegrass is the utter fail of music because it sounds like the music you want to square dance too. I don't mind screamo that much as long as there is some singing, like Trigger said.

Sadly, I like Disco A LOT. xD

    Ditto.

Except for that last part: "Sadly, I like Disco A LOT."

    I don't. But otherwise, ditto. :/

Rap is good. It can be good but we just have too many damn records on how to 'smack that.'

I have to admit, I pratically like everything except Pop. I'm not an energetic guy when it comes to music.

I do not like rap, some of it, the 'ghetto' kind. It has too much, umm how do I say, 'nastyness' in it? Country, I just hate the voices, plus the lyrics, and omg the videos. I don't like SOME screamo, but I like the ones when the guys switch their voices off to regular though. And 'old' music. Sorry, I'm young. So yeah, I don't really like rock.
