...These two statements do not seem quite congruous.

Not exactly. Does Mozilla Firefox use a lot of memory? Nope. Also, this version fixed the issue with the black arrow icon that appears when a video is playing on YouTube, so yay!

Also, hi person who ignores me (Cat~)! :D

Well, Google Chrome uses a hell of a lot more. That's what I meant.

It looks like you have chrome open twice as there are two different processes for it. Is it supposed to do that?

I'm not sure. I only had the one window open, so I'm not sure what it's doing.

Mozilla Firefox uses one process. Google Chrome uses several processes.

    Explained here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/og-xdL55RJM[1-25-false]

Firefox uses just as much memory, but it's built so that when it starts to approach a whole bunch of memory usage, it begins to limit it down (<--- abridged explanation my roommate gave me when I asked two weeks ago).

Well, all I know is that Google Chrome caused me to get a BSOD once when I was processing a video after recording with my capture card, and it never happened on Mozilla Firefox, so I went back to Mozilla Firefox, and it hasn't happened since.

@Plums' explanation above probably explains that?
