So I just read something interesting. According to this, Mortal Combat 9 has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Now, how exciting is that? The milestone makes the title the best-selling fighting game this year, beating out Marvel vs. Capcom 3's two million units. "We are very pleased with the success of Mortal Kombat, as it surpassed our expectations," said WB Interactive president Martin Tremblay. "We'd like to thank our entire team and all of our partners for their innovative campaigns and tremendous support of Mortal Kombat, as the game sales continue to grow." "The game was a labor of love for us and we could not be more pleased with its performance," said Ed Boon, the game's creative director. "Fan reaction to this latest installment has made all of our hard work worth it." Mortal Kombat released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 19.
That's a lot. I myself was never really a big fan of mortal combat (I was more into sonic and the first rpg's) but apparently a lot of people like the game. Hope they all got there money's worth ^_^
