[I bet you guys are getting sick of these]

So I tried to install GIMP on my horrible old Windows XP again after I uninstalled the old one. So it installs fine but when I go to start it up, It says there's a file missing. So I installed it again, and got the same results.

    Anyone know the solution?

I'm not familiar with this problem since GIMP always runs fine whenever I update or reinstall it.
Does the error provide any additional information, like exactly what file is missing? My guess is that it's a DLL file.

Did you try restarting your computer? If that doesn't work then try running a virus scan. Other than that I have no idea since I only know basic computer solutions.

Restarting the computer doesn't help and annoyingly I can't seem to download any anti-virus programs, I tried downloading AVG but it wouldn't start the download, no matter how I tinkered with Google Chrome but thanks for the suggestions anyway

Found a few solutions by Googling, this one seems the easiest:
    1. Uninstall Gimp.
    2. Uninstall GTK.
    3. Re-install GTK (make sure you're getting the right one!)
    4. Re-install Gimp.

Well, I searched my computer for GTK and got a list of 200+ files, should I delete them all?

Before uninstalling anything, can you check if the libgimpui-2.0-0.dll file is in your "C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.0\bin\" directory?

I checked and it's there, but I already uninstalled gimp...no idea why I've still got the folder...but yeah, it's there.

Okay, it's there, but GIMP can't find it.

"Try putting the location of your bin folder in the system path. Right
click my computer, select advance tab, select environment variables, in
system variables scroll down to path, highlight path, click edit and add
the location of your bin folder. Be sure to use a semicolon as separator."

Okay, done that, now I assume I just install GIMP again?

    No problem. :D

Usually, missing DLL errors can be fixed by downloading the DLL file, and putting it in the program's install directory.
