That's just plain wrong and inexcusable.

One doesn't handcuff their son / daughter to something because of an action they did.

I'm guessing the daughter made an inappropriate-type post. If that's the case, then the mother should have educated her daughter about said post, instead of handcuffing her to the bed.

Facebook has affected the social life and activity of people in various ways.

Problem is that it can cause a lot of unnecessary drama to happen and this drama would sometimes wind up on the news, depending on the situation.

    The article is an example.

And as to what Amaury said, +1.

Exactly. Handcuffing your own child is just... way too drastic.
All it takes is a nice chat about what is and what isn't appropriate to post and why. Some parents just don't take the time to talk to their children. There lies the problem.

What in the world?! Handcuffing your children due to something like this is very irresponsible and a poor disciplinary measure...

The thing i don't get is what did she post that caused her mother to to do such a thing? I am very shocked about this.

who the heck handcuffs their child over something like a Facebook thing? Actually, who the heck carries handcuffs?

That was way too drastic. That mother needs to go get herself straightened out

I'm actually glad her mother is actually even seeing what she's posting. Does it say what the post is? I don't know if it's handcuff-worthy (though that made me laugh), but kids, especially at that age, think they can post whatever they want online.

They can't. More parents to be watching what their kids post online.

I agree. I am glad she was looking out for her child, but the type of punishment does not seem to be the most appropriate action, regardless of a situation.

Unless her daughter was online with an older male that wanted her to meet up with him and she was going to. That would make handcuffing a little more reasonable, but not by much. Definitely could be handled better if that was the case.

Am I the only one who actually bothered to read the page linked in the first post ?

Martin claims her daughter refused to hand over her account password after the teen posted the word "xxx" on her page (see the actual word for yourself on the linked page), and that's when the two began fighting over the computer.

Apparently the nice chat didn' t cut it. It happens sometimes.

You don' t wanna know !
