Mirror to Dreams

Lavara let out a shrill whistle, "Okay, let's see what highschool did for us." she cracked her knuckles and pointed her hand at the shadow. Pure light shot from her finger tips.

 

The shadow melted into the ground and disappeared.

"What was that?!" Raven rubbed her hands together. "My magic passed right through it!"

 

Lavara whistled again but quieter. "I don't know, probably the thing you told me about. I wonder how we fight it."

 

Raven didn't see a way she could fight it if her magic was ineffective. "I don't think we can. Let's just get out of here."

 

"Yeah," Lavara nodded, "I think that way leads to the dorms." she said, pointing down the left corridor.

 

"Yeah, me too." Raven squeezed Aiko's hand and started down the hallway with Lavara.

 

"Which dorm is yours?" Lavara asked at the stair case leading to the dorms.

 

Raven sweatdropped. "It's a bad number... 666..."

 

Lavara rolled her eyes, "Oh come one, that's not a bad number, any more than twins are bad luck. Bad luck is made by those who want it. I'm 664, so we're near by, cool."

 

Raven was glad that she'd made a friend and that her room was near her own. "Should we talk to the headmaster about it?"

 

"Yeah, good idea. His room is..." she looked up and down the halls, "Not that way, that's where that guy pointed us, I think that way." she pointed down the opposite hall. "Is that right?"

 

Raven looked around. "Nevermind... We might get lost again."

 

"Yeah, tomorrow we can tell someone. What do you want to do now? I think exploring just got dangerous."

 

Raven nodded in agreement. "This whole school is dangerous. We shouldn't have come here..."

 

"Oh, that's not adventourous. Why shouldn't you have come here?" Lavara asked, climbing the stairs.

 

Raven sighed. "I'm too much of a wimp... Adventure isn't for me..."

 

Lavara lightly punched Raven's shoulder, "Then this place will be perfect for you, give you a taste. Here, I'll make you a promise, I'll protect you guys if you need it. Not that I think you will, but if it makes you feel better to be here." she shrugged, "Well, where do we want to be while we chat?"

 

"I know..." Raven smiled slyly. "Seen any cute guys?"

 

Lavara blushed, this was not her department, "Don't ask me, I've never been good at seeing the hot in a guy." she glanced at her clothes. I really should have bought some girl clothes, oh well. "Have you?" she asked, turning it on Raven.

 

"Not fair!" Raven laughed. "But, no. I haven't seen any yet."
