Mirror to Dreams

Raven clicked on the first link and started reading.

 

Lavara dropped a stack of books on a table and opened the first one to the contents page. Running her finger down the list, she found a chapter that talked about rumors of the school and flipped to it.

 

Raven stared open mouthed at the screen. "Fifty...?!"

 

Lavara looked up from the page she was on, "Fifty what?"

 

Takashi sighed as he walked through the school hallways to look for that strange girl."..where did she go?''he asked himself.Seeing as he was close to the library he thought he'd have a look around.

 

"Did I say that out loud?" Raven sweatdropped. "It says here that the last time twins were at the school, fifty girls went missing and were never found."

 

"By the gods, that's incredible. How did it get fifty if it can't even get one of us?" Lavara responded, amazed. "that's a good thing to know."

 

"Either the girls back then put up less of a fight, or the shadows were stronger." Raven said.

 

Aiko looked up from the newspaper. "That's... Incredible! Yet, scary at the same time... How do we know they can't get stronger?" She asked, thinking.

 

Takashi stood behind a bookcase,eavesdropping.

 

"Now that I think about it... What if they get stronger when they get girls?" Raven theorized. "It's hard to explain, and I'm sure it's not right, but what if they use the girls energy to get stronger so that they get what they want: the twins...?"

 

"That would make sence. And it would explain why it's going through so much trouble to get just one girl at a time instead of attacking, say, the whole dorm at once." Lavara thought outloud, looking at Raven. "does that site say anything else?"

 

Raven shook her head. "It's all statistics. What I do know is: Aiko and I are causing more trouble than I thought."

 

"Well, then, we'll have to be smarter than we thought, too. Just to meet the trouble head on." Lavara smiled at her, "don't get too caught up in the fault thing, kay?"

 

"And I thought this was just a rumor..." Aiko said to herself and shook her head. "Yeah, don't worry too much about it. It doesn't look like the shadows have gotten anybody, yet. We'll just have to keep the shadows from getting to them, somehow." I wonder why they only take girls, though... Aiko thought.

 

Lavara nodded, going back to her books. She put aside the one she had been reading, it had nothing in it, and started on the next one, and aged diary looking book.

 

"I'll try." Raven said to Lavara. She jumped when an ear piercing scream came from the hall. "Let's go!" She shut her laptop and set it on the chair. She ran out of the library.

"Yuki!" A girl sobbed, holding a bag and staring wide eyed at the wall.

 

Takashi quickly followed."Damn,this is easy!"he muttered cheerfully.

 

Aiko followed Raven once she heard the scream as well. She looked at the crying girl, but then quickly looked behind her. Huh? I thought I heard something... She thought, looking around but seeing nothing.

 

Lavara jumped up at the scream. Before running after Raven she dropped the diary into her bag without thinking and then took off. "What happend?" she asked the girl when they reached her.
