PC Minecraft

If you want to have a goal in mind, I'd suggest trying to reach the Far Lands without cheating. It's basically the edge of the world where everything gets super glitchy. And on a world 8 times the surface area of earth, it'll take 820+ gameplay hours.

I haven't posted in a while and all I got to say again about Minecraft is its just pure fun.

I love setting goals from getting diamond, to finding dungeons, to building structures. I can't get enough of this game especially when I play online with friends [bukkit ftw] and what I love about minecraft is its PC specs are so low that its playable on so many PC's. Its basically a epic win. c:

 

I actually watched a cool video about how to do mass collecting of items. It's if you build a bunch of trenches and thenin a building (or underground) you have a lava block, but the trick is that you also add a cactus and a ladder, so the lava doesn't fall (the cactus is actually for chickens that beat the system and the spiders. and then the items drop through even further below and collect and you can just grab them.

Yeah I know I'm bumping this thread, but I just wanna show you my house!

I've been playing it pretty much nonstop lately, and I must say that it's amazing. I tend to get lost in caves, but I can find my way out just by digging upward. At the moment I still have it set on Peaceful, but I don't really like hostile mobs anyway, so that's fine.

 

I've been on this game since Alpha and it's honestly the only game so far I've never let go for a whole year. As much as I enjoy Survival Single Player, I'm pretty fond of the servers on Multiplayer. It only hit me when I realized it gets pretty lonely knowing you made a castle and you're the only population to inhabit minus the occassional Creeper knocking on my doorstep.

EDIT: And just to mark from personal experience, I actually gave up a majority of Console Gaming time just to play Minecraft. Oh, how 3D customizable lego being jumped on by a bunch of monsters occupy with sweet time.

 

I saw Yogcast do a video on one of the most beautiful and awesome mods I have ever seen. It's called The Aether and it's basically the polar opposite of the Nether. There's floating islands everywhere and if you fall off you go back to a random spot in your normal minecraft world. Basically the Aether mod has everything that Minecraft should've had already, dungeons with bosses, flying mounts and... flying pigs.

If you're interested, you should definitely check some videos of this mod out. It's so cool.

 

They finally released that mod? I've been waiting on it for a while now. The Nether itself is fun and all, but a ghast every minute or two makes creations over there the worst idea ever.
Speaking of mods, Minecraft has some pretty awesome mods I've seen so far. My favorite? An actual pokeball.

 

I've been wanting to get it for a couple of days now but I've been so busy at work that I haven't been able to download all the files I need to get it to work.

I still can't get over how huge this mod looks. I took one look at it in the Yogcast video and thought "Notch really needs to add this into the game'. The inside of the dungeons themselves look really nice, especially the Silver dungeons. I also remembered the other flying mounts you can catch and breed (called Moas I think), I thought it was clever that Simon (I think it was him playing) made a pen to keep his moas in one place and he had an incubator in there as well to hatch any eggs they laid.

Sad thing about the Aether mod is that I'm probably going to have to turn off my custom texture pack. I've gotten attached to my Borderlands one. :c

That's actually pretty cool, can you catch mobs with it or something?

 

I'm going to grab it whenever I can. I'm still very skeptic when it comes to modding my stuff. Then again, I can always re-download the application.

And yeah. It lets you capture any mob and release them afterwards. It helps, cause the materials to have one isn't much. Looks like it can be a primary escape weapon.

P.S. I enjoy texture packs, myself, but when I bumped the game up for HD, it looks nice as default.

Anyone else excited for 1.8?

 

Ahh MineCraft... I love this game! My cousin edged me to buy it January of this year while I was far from home because we were taking my sister to college...So I'd sit in the hotel at night playing MineCraft, and texting my cousin, asking what everything was, and how to do it, I eventually just called him, and it eventually ended like this: "Hey, what's that thing over there?"
"...What?"
"Is that a...Spider? Can I touch it?"
"Is it daytime?"
"Of course."
"Go ahead."
*I go to the spider and punch it*
"WAH. YOU DIDN'T TELL ME IT'D ATTACK"
"Oh, if you see a green thing, it's a Passive Mob, and it hands out gifts. Like that Santa Pokemon thing."
"Really? *Goes over to a Creeper* ...Does it give me a gift after it his- AW I HATE YOU"

 

What is in 1.8?

 

It's known as the Adventure Update. It includes, among other things, stuff like ruins, large ravines, NPC villages a la Millenaire, several new blocks, a new mob known as "Endermen," and a new biome where giant mushrooms will spawn. A full list can be found here:

The Endermen seem very intriguing as well. Along with those...er, Silverfish, that's it.

And the sprinting, I'm not too excited for that, but it could prove cool.
And, as for Silverfish, I never really used food or anything (Are fish used for food?) I only use porkchops...I dunno why, I didn't even know how to farm until like last week.
Killing innocent pigs is the way to go.

That^ Somehow reminds me of MineCraft. And that Endermen mob is going to be just another thing that'll scare me every time I peak into the night. After hearing all the stories about the Slender Man. Paranoia Fuel.

 

You don't know how much I've watched that video, Hell-Sing. I've loved that video since a few months ago. >_<

Anyway, I think Notch was adding in Dragons. It says so on the wiki, anyway.

 

Silverfish aren't fish. They're some bug thing that crawls around. They eat wood and stuff, I believe. So watch out.​
