NOTE: Whether the above is mispelled or not, I don't care.

Anyways, about a month ago, apparently Miley Cyrus released a new song called "Can't Be Tamed." Truth is, the song is OK, but the video is just...well see for yourself.

I think Miley went a little too far this time. I hope she knows little kids still listen to her music.

Wait, you have a problem with the video but not with the lyrics? The lyrics are worse imo.

I thought the beginning of the video was really creative actually, although that probably had nothing to do with Miley herself. There was nothing particularly outrageous about the video, I was expecting Miley rolling around naked or something. Sure, there was some seductive actions, but nothing terrible.

The majority of celebrities in the limelight these days have child fans, but they can't be PC all the time just for their sake.

I really am tired of people going on Miley, I mean what is she? Seventeen? That was the age when Britney Spears went through her skanky period and no one cared, same with Christina Aguilara. But Miley? They are attacking her like crazy for no reason. I mean when she was dancing dirty with the producer of the video, That is far. I am no fan of her but I really think they should stop being dicks and ease up on her.

    I don't think it's bad at all.
People have to also understand that kids grow up. I mean she's getting to be that age like others where it's that time for change. At some point, it happens...

I think the video is creative, but it's reminding me of Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Ke$ha.

That was a great video, and a great song. Lady GaGa just keeps getting better and better?

Oh, wait, what? That was Miley Cyrus? I couldn't tell because that seems EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING GAGA WOULD DO.

The video itself is fine, Miley's growing up, she can do slutty stuff and no one should really care anymore. But what's with all the Gaga impersonators? First there's Kesha, and now Miley's jumping on the bandwagon? Real original, guys.

I guess Miley feels a bit left behind now that everyone's moved on to the Jonas Brothers Justin Bieber. Those kids get bored so fast with their silly little idols, you have to expect the ones left behind to do something to stay in the spotlight, even if it is blatant copying.

Wow... the audio is totally synced off in the video xD

Anyways, on a more serious note, I am not giong to comment on the video. I never liked music videos, I focus on the song only. Which, in this case, I didn't like at all. I have been taught who has a great voice and is (or can be, at least) a true singer. Miley Cyrus is certainly not one of them. I have nothing against the girl though; I like her as a person and as an actor, the few times I saw her on television she cracked me up xD

There's my two cents :P cheers!

Its all because the world still sees her as Hannah Montana. Doesn't stop her stuff from being garbage all the same, though.

The only reason people have so many complaints about her is because she started out with Disney. For whatever reason it is, people won't disassociate her from it and insist on finding fault in everything she does. I'm not a fan of her, nor will I ever be, but people need to let her make her own decisions and keep their opinions to themselves. It's not her fault that kids still listen to her music, the whole reason she calls herself Miley Cyrus instead of Hannah Montana is because she's trying to reach an older generation.

This. Just because she started out with Disney doesn't mean she's always going to be on Disney. (Or that Disney is strictly for little kids) She's obviously trying to do more mature stuff so I say let her do it.
    She's growing up.

I haven't seen Hannah Montana since it came out.
I saw one of the more recent episodes the other day and I noticed she looks older (Because she is of course) and not so..childish.

(EDIT: I actually like the few songs I know from her)

Because Lady Gaga owns everything she does?

I was one of the people that thought Lady Gaga was a Christina Aguilera ripoff at first.
Not to mention that people "borrow" from others in the music industry all the time. Doesn't mean they're trying to be like them.

She's recycled Disney fodder: she's nothing but a product of the corporation, but at the same time she desperately wants her music career to be more Miley Cyrus than Hannah Montana. This video shows that pretty clearly in the sense that it's not childish at all and rather irresponsible in my opinion. It's not as if she's been off the set of Hannah Montana for a few years; I know that show is at least still on the air, if not still in production of new episodes. Basically, Miley didn't call this one well at all, and she will never really be anything more than the child pop star that she is now, as exemplified by the reactions to this video.

Well...I liked the video a lot, it's just...it's a bit too early for her to be like "HEY KIDDIES, I KNOW YOU LOVE ME, BUT I'M GOING TO GROW UP FAST!" She is falling down the path of Lohan/Spears. Even if Britney failed and became horrible, she picked herself up and went back on track. I can't say that for Lohan...

If you closely listen to her lyrics, they imply...some things children shouldn't be hearing, but we cannot stop that at all from happening anyway. It's in all the media these days and it's becoming a sex-craved pop culture.

Also whoever said "She's copying off of Lady Gaga?" this is just a trend thats been happening for awhile, she might of started the whole "movie-video" trend of freaky and bizzare, but this has been happening before most of us here was born, she's just reviving it. I haven't heard people whining when Beyonce did it in her video "Video-Phone" her trying something new and actually worked.

    She's a hot mess regardless ;p

The album is really...tame. Tbh she's been dressed this skimpy for ages like since the royal variety performance last year.
The video isn't so skanky it's showing children to dress tough if you want to and tell people not to control you, pretty good individualism message there.

And if it's too sexy well...children are going to be exposed to the dark world at some point and it's getting more skimpy and being seen by younger people in this day and age.

I remember Britneys music career hitting off, that was as skimpy as mileys video but in 1990's standards of skimpy and suggestive I think.

I have to agree with what Reptar said; people give Miley Cyrus a lot of crap that is undeserved. Okay, her music isn't my cup of tea, but that doesn't mean that I have to constantly rag on her.

People are also very critical of her; the fact is that most child stars go through phases like this, and that's very unfortunate. They grow up under the constant examination of the public and have to learn to act and dress in a way that will not upset anyone. But that all backfires, and they end up rebelling in some way -- this, I guess, is the Miley Cyrus example.

To be honest though, I didn't see much wrong with the video. Her outfit was a bit skimpy, but if you don't want your kids to see it, don't let them. Doesn't mean you have to start a crusade against her. As for her lyrics... trust me, kids hear much worse stuff in school.

heres what i believe, she listens to lohan and actually recieved a insult that she thought was a compliment:R:" Your turning worser than Britney Spears"M: "Thank you!"

That video and the song made my 11 year old cousin go freak.
She may be trying a style bnut that style is just ugh.
i actually couldn't watch the whole video i had a hard time getting past it.
It was very suggestive and stupid bottomline? shes a fake. Just like thje girl i hate who adores Miley, she and miley have something in common,
they like to play with older boys and other boys. Seriously. Well as they say what comes around goes around. Children who are exposed and learn this stuff, miss out.

My little sister use to know about it,(my six year old little sister FYI) till we went to a docotor who actually got her hooked on Whinnie the Pooh again but it was worth it because of the way pop stars are. And her influence came from Miley who was dating all this 23 year old guys. I was like seriously?

All i'm saying this whole music video and song is a sad sad sad way to get negative attention.

    Don't you agreee?

Cause it is true. Before i actually was a fan but now it's like bring on the Fake crap I already listen to at school,so why not Miley? You still spew about people bugging you and howq you have a whole new bad grown up view in your head. (she said that in Teen vogue yeah i like Teen Vogue helps me out alot.)

I think she's talented honestly. I don't like her, but she has talent, and I think it's good that she's finally breaking free from the innocent Disney image. Most of the world is sick of it, and I'd be surprised if she wasn't sick of it before we were.

I liked the video, however weird it may have been. And guys, Miley is 17 now. She's not 12. People change along with their thoughts as they get older. I know that I definately didn't wanna dress the way I do now when I was 12. She's moving past Disney, which I think is a good move for her.

You have to add points to back up your opinion...
Like, did you not like the song or the music video? Didn't you like the song because of the music video? You think Miley's voice is horrible?
    Please explain your statement.

How many people actually use these things?

Miley Cyrus is trying to break away from her child image. Once child celebrities begin to get to the point that they can no longer play the stupid middle or high school kid, movie/music producers don't want to pick them up anymore. They have to do something to castoff that "innocent" (for lack of a better word) image, and to tell people that they can handle more adult responsibilities, problems, and roles.

Unfotunately, they usually have to do something desperate. But, I honestly don't think that this is bad at all. Yeah, she's 17. But how old is 17 really? When there are kids who are 14 & pregnant, 8 year olds having to help pick their drunk father up off the floor, and kids doing drugs and drinking alcohol regularly before they are old enough to drive or go to R rated movies, this isn't a big deal.

Freedom of expression (unless it can provide direct, physical hard to someone (i.e. putting up a poster that says kill anyone who wears a turban, or stone all catholic priests) is allowed. Parents should be able to interact with their kids enough to know who they like and listen to/watch, and be able to say "I don't think you should be viewing this material" or "Dude, its wutev."

If yet another skank wants to be a skank and broadcast it, I say go for it. Spears, Lohan, GaGa, and countless others have done it before her. :/

And anyways, people have Selena Gomez to look up to now! :3
