Any of our late teens and twenties members remember watching this everyday after school on Fox Kids?

I just remembered because my boyfriend still likes power rangers and stuff, and he had the whole first season on DVD.

Now don't confuse MIGHTY MORPHING PR with shows before and after it.

I'm talking about the particular series of it with Trini, Kimberly, Billy, Tommy, and those other two guys I can't remember because these four were the only ones I liked xD!!! Mighty Morphing is the one I grew up watching and I haven't been interested in it much since then, but to be completely honest I'm interested in the new Jungle Fury coming out on Jetix soon.

It makes me feel kinda lame because I am a girl, and I'm 19, and I've found a long lost love of power rangers. Is that a bit odd? Lol

Not at all. I made sure I remembered all that happened with the original Rangers...at least from what I've seen anyway.

They were Jason, Trini, Zack, Kimberly, Billy and Tommy. Mighty Morphin' was cool...until they brought in the Thunderzords, Ninjazords and Shogunzords. They destroyed the Dragonzord. Titanus was basically useless. Oh, by the way, did you notice that no matter how many Zords they stick together, they all end up being the same height? Megazord was the exact same size as the Red Ranger's Zord! And then they switched basically every character except Billy. Tommy became White Ranger and the new "leader." Kimberly (who I had a huge crush on back in the day ) was replaced by Katherine, and Jason, Trini and Zack got replaced with Rocky, Aisha and Adam. Then the Command Center got destroyed and they earned their new Zeo powers.

Now after all these years I find out that they were the one's who got SatAM cancelled.

But back on topic: The original rangers rule. It's too bad Trini's actress died in real life from cancer (hence, no cameos). And they're the main reason my alter-ego is who he is today. :D

Oh, and one last thing...What's being a girl have to do with anything? Nothing wrong with liking the classics! ;)

OMG, I thought Trini was the best. I had a friend who is crazy about Power Rangers (even now) and told me that she died from cancer. I was just shattered.

Anyway, MMPR was the best...though Space comes second. I can't remember alot about them now but I think it just went downhill after Space. I don't know, I just didn't get it.

...or maybe because as I got older, I thought it was idiotic for a bunch of teenagers/adults to run around in coloured tights (are they tights? *shrugs*).

    Super Sentai vs. Power Rangers

One last thing I forgot to mention:

Super Sentai came WAY BEFORE Mighty Morphin'. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Super Sentai is the Japanese equivalent to the English Power Rangers (I say English instead of American, because I have no idea where they do the filming now these days). However, there's an EXTREME difference between the two. In the English series, the team basically lasts one season before getting their powers revoked in some form or other, whether it's their morphers being destroyed or the evil bad guy takes it from them. Then they start a new season with a different set of rangers starting the cycle yet again. :sideways:

Super Sentai, however, is different in the fact that NONE of their rangers are gone. I mean, we're talking about 50 Red Rangers on the screen at the same time! NONE of their Zords are gone and basically different teams star in their own series where they all crossover from time to time. More often than the English Rangers.

So, to recap: Japan got the Rangers back in the 80s. Power Rangers didn't come to the U.S. until the early 90s. America steals idea from Japan. Power Rangers are good until the fourth series (Power Rangers in Space) then goes downhill from there. Super Sentai still goes strong in Japan, and none of their rangers have died. ;)

And yeah, there are a few good episodes from the new English series they come out with every year, but only the crossover ones. The rest is just recycled material.

Back to topic: I thought Kimberly was the hottest ranger out of all of them.

Yeah.. I think I would rather watch a dubbed Japanese version then the new English versions. I was a weird girl. In kindergarten I watched an awesome show like power rangers, but I also watched the lamer shows like Barney! xD

Actually last weekend me and my boyfriend watched this super-lame home made dub version of a super sentai episode. I think it must have really just been a parody of it or something cause this dub sucked so bad it was funny.

I heard Trini died in a car accident, not cancer. I think they might have said it on some news report.

I just like the first 2 seasons. After that, it went down hill.

Thuy Trang died on September 3, 2001 at the age of 27. And darkcloud was right, I was wrong. She died in a car accident. It was believed that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt. The episode "Circuit Unsure" of Power Rangers: Time Force was dedicated to her.

And I think the show actually went downhill when Disney gained the rights from Saban Entertainment.
