Microsoft word issues.

I'm writing a story but when I tried to keep writing the story it said it's locked or something. And I can't do anything! Not to that or any other document! Help?

 

Locked? Very strange description.

Can you possibly do a Print Screen when that happens? I'd like to see exactly what it is you're dealing with.

 

I know whats going on, because it has happened to me.

You were only using the trial version of word, and haven't actually purchased it. You get the free trial for a number of days when you get a new computer or are trying it out. Once the number of days in the trial is up Word goes into locked mode where you can't type anymore and can only view previous documents.

It happened to me, now I just use processor. It may not be as good, but its basically the same :3

So you aren't using the full version of Microsoft Office?

You can download open office at their website openoffice.org.

It's free and the same as mircosoft.​

 

She probably didn't know. A lot of new computers come with the trial and not the full product.


Like Obsessed said, you can use processor. It's very similar to Microsoft Office.
That or you can just buy Microsoft Office.
If I were you, I would use the processor.

 

It's pretty hard not to be able to tell if it's full or not, while it's asking you to register every 5 seconds.

Just buy the full version, it's worth it.

 

A lot don't; actually, most with Vista don't. I know mine or my sister's computers didn't.

But yeah, you can buy it or just download something like AbiWord. It can read all the documents and has all the same features. I've used it myself, and it's just as good as Word.

So. Your using Microsoft Word, yes? Hm... It might be the problem of not having enough space in your computer. You are lucky. When I don't have enough space, my computer shuts down and when I turn it back on... Everything from pictures, to music, to writing is gone. You might also want to check if you have a password on your or other family members account. If you have a family member and they came and looked at the project and saved it to their side, and they have a password, then it can make it unavailible. I've tried it with pictures on my brother's account. Hope I helped.
