Metal Gear Series

I need a little help, my friend keeps argueing about the Metal Gear series about which games go where.

The only thing I need to know is where in the story does all the games fit?

Well:

Metal Gear Solid 3
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker (The new one coming out)
Metal Gear 1
Metal Gear 2
Metal Gear Solid 1
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots.

 

MGS3 - MGS1 - MGS2 - MGS4
Those are the main titles in the right order

The upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Rising comes between Sons of Liberty and Guns of the Patriots, if we're being picky bout details.

 

Well actually, we're not sure. They never said when it would take place.
It might be between MGS2 and MGS4 like you said.
It might be during MGS4.
And for all we know, with Kojima's brain, it could be after MGS4. (Even though the ending would say otherwise)

But yes, odds are it is between MGS2 and MGS4. It could explain how Sunny was saved. It could explain how he became an android.

 

I actually hope they put it before MGS4.
Cuase chances are they would just kill the ending of MGS4.

 

Ah, i never considered the possibility that the game would continue into MGS timeline, maybe i'm just hoping.
