Mega Man 9

I just got my issue of Nintendo Power today and the highlight of the Wii Channels section (which consits of new Wii Ware, Virtual Console, and channels) was Mega Man 9. This game takes place right after Mega Man 8 for the NES. So, what this is, is a brand new NES game. It has classic 8-bit graphics and music and the well known difficulty of the original Mega Man titles, but also has new content, such as online leaderboards, downloadable content, and 8-bit cutscenes. It will be downloadable via WiiWare (it is not a Virtual Console title). Price and release date have yet to be announced.

 

I don't like the fact that they are going back to eight bits, personally.

 

Why not? I personally think it's a great idea because alot of people enjoyed it when they were growing up and it's a blast of nostalgia. I don;t like the newer games because they screwed with the original formula too much, even if the original games were too hard.

 

For starters, I didn't get interested in Mega Man until Mega Man 7, and I'm not much for 8 bitage.

 

megaman 9? is this a new game? or is it a remake of an old one?

PSSHH! Mega Man 8 was for the PSX/Saturn. I personally would have preferred another game similar to Mega Man 8 as opposed to 8-bit (despite how good those games are, too).
