Yep, they are complaining about the short (James Bond like) sex scene at the end, you only see a few seconds of bare ass and for some reason they think it's justified to complain and riot about it.

Geoff totally owned them, even though they weren't willing to listen to his points.

 

Again stupid people mumbling about violence in videogames. And again, women are treated like objets. Sex is everywhere, deal with that. >.<

Was contemplating posting this yesterday, but was too angry to do it.

That psychologist was completely missing the point that Geoff was trying to make. It doesn't matter if kids are scientifically suggested to not be able to tell the difference between reality and fantasy, the point is if you don't want your kids to play M rated games, you as a parent have to do something about it.

Like I'm sorry, but if you made the decision to have kids, then step the **** up and take some action if you plan to play video games that have a mature rating. If you don't want your kids playing Mass Effect, hide the ****ing game and put it in a locked safe or something and play it after your kids go to sleep if it's that important to you. It boggled me when these parents went "I can't watch him 24/7, so I can't stop him if he comes home from school and wants to play Daddy's video games".

Yes you ****ing can you idiot. Lock the game somewhere where your kids can't find it when you're not home. Secondly, there was that Fox special about halo 3 and how Microsoft explicitly said there were Family settings, but these parents "didn't know how to work the controller anyway". Well guess what, lazy parents, you're most likely the ones who bought the damn console, so read the ****ing manual and learn how to use it like your kids do.

 

Exactly Soush, you hit the nail on the head. They have all these things about violence but never mention the simple thing of making the staff be stricter when buying games.

With the way technology is moving games are now more like interactive movies. So treat them like you do movies. We have highly violent and sexual movies, well low and behold we have the same for games. Movies are rated 18/R well so are games, so why not treat these ratings the same way. Honestly, that sex scene is just like you find in James Bond films but yet no-one complains about that.

 

I think I can say for all of us when I say "Fox sucks."

How the hell did they even get that job, their views are all biased and always ******ed. They never have a person who can give a good argument. Actually scratch that the only person I ever saw with a good one was Jack Thompson and he was holding out pretty good in his argument.

 

When was Fox news ever decent on news? Half the **** they lash on they suck on. Maplestory, even if the game sucks, they couldn't ****ing get the point across. Talk about failure. Than the last at 4chan they got ****ing pwned so badly by the /b/tards themselves. Fox gotta' straighten up.

i agreed with Fox on the Maplestory one but this one i hope EA gets their way. their shows are WAY more sex filled then any game. the problem is that people assume that everyone who plays games are kids.

 

I have to hand it to Fox though. They were actually taking a stab at being rational by discussing the role of parents. Considering the stance of the psychologist playing devils advocate, there's art more traumatizing in most galleries around the world that depict the human form is more lustful and grotesque ways. She was also an artard about the study she presented about "teens who haven't had experience can't comprehend". Please, lets try to give a little more credit to the teenagers of this world (50%, being boys, that we can safely assume have been hiding the fact that they masturbate from their parents). Most studies that depict a lack of understanding or wrong perceptions about the world can be easily dispelled if a brief explanation follows. With that in mind it all comes back to the parents taking a proactive role in their children's lives. It's impossible to shelter them from everything so it's more often than not a necessity to, taking this subject in mind, talk to the kid about how sex is a way that grown adults express their feelings for each other. Instead we have to chase a faceless monster and blame it for our problems.

This just proves that idiots can exist among academics (this is quite comforting in terms of my chances). If my life works out to a T, I for one would not mind advocating for the use of video games and proactivity throughout my career.

Hardly. Fox just likes to call it blatant sex because it was in a *video game*, which is still apparently only for little kids to them.

You can find all the sexually-natured scenes on youtube if you're interested; even those who purposely anticipated the sex scenes rioted about how disappointing it was.

 

Dear lord. That lady was a little *****. WHAT THE HELL DID SHE HAVE TO DO WITH VIDEO GAMES? Didn't she write some book that has absolutely nothing to do with video games? And where does she get the gall to assume that all guys will purposely look for this sex scene? I swear, if I ever meet this woman in real life I'm gonna make her life a living hell. xD
And then there was the actual jack asses known as the Fox news team. I really find it offensive that they think the only people playing video games are little kids. How many of us here are actually under 16? I am really pissed at them for this.
