Tomorrow I finish my exams. Tomorrow I get my life back, I get free time! So, I thought I would fill it with something because I look forward to the times when I can play a game until like 4am, sleep for 10 hours, get up and carry on playing it.

However, I may just play Skyrim because I have yet to finish ANY OF IT! Of course, if I get bored or want something new then I was going to try out one of these games and they were quite cheap when I went into GAME today.

So, a question- which series would you recommend? (Also for mass effect, which one is the best?)

*high fives myself* but really bumfnub who does that?

But really, I haven't played Dragon Age at all, so I can't be without bias on this matter.
Still, it's mostly a matter of medival (Dragon Age/Skyrim) versus sci-fi (Mass Effect/Doctor Who). I'd consult some game review sites (GameInformer is one of my go-to places for reviews) or just browse around and decide for yourself.

The gameplay of DA reminded me a lot of Fable and Skyrim (both games I love) but ME reminded me of Half life 2 and that is just a great game which I must replay!

Also, when I went into GAME today I couldn't find DA: Origins or ME1 which was weird, I could find all the sequels though! I'm guessing they were just hiding.

    I'd recommend Dragon Age: Origins.

Also, Mass Effect 2 is in my opinion the best of the ME series.

Mass Effect. If you cannot get all of them (ahurr munny y u mean), get the third one. I think that one has a catching up flashback just like the second one...

Having played both series i would recomend Mass Effect. They also released the mass effect trilogy as a collection in late 2012 with all 3 games plus certain DLC for $60

I think Mass Effect is much, much better than Dragon Age. Especially as a series. Dragon Age II was very disappointing, and most of the story and lore in Dragon Age is very generic.

If I come back to this thread after being converted into a crazed fangirl then I will be highly amused by all of this!

Seriously guys? Dragon Age Origins is way freaking better than Mass Effect 2. What the heck yo.

I agree that DA2 sucked, but have you played Origins?

Oh well. I guess ME2 was alright, but only for one playthrough. I tried playing the game again as female Shep and tried to do bad choices but it was boring.

If you're looking for a trilogy of scifi greatness go with Mass Effect, if you're wanting a great fantasy game go with DAO, its dlcs, and expansion.
I originally bought my xbox back in 2010 because of it was the only console at the time that had Mass Effect and so that summer belonged to ME1 and ME2. The next summer a friend of mine got me to play DAO and I must say, I think I lost an entire month of my summer to that game and its expansion. XD
After playing those games I thought bioware could do no wrong, then I played DA2...
