OOC: I'm not going to be able to come on for about 2 weeks as of tommorrow. Please don't kill Bree off and feel free to control her for a bit so that she doesn't get left behind. Thank you.

BIC: Bree wiped a tear from her eye, she couldn't quite believe this was happening, before looking up at Cyclops. She was really glad he was here, she was so scared though she tried not to show it. "They came out of nowhere and killed Whirlpool. Just like that. And vanished. What do we do?"

"There some of you are!" Hellion dropped to the ground a few feet in front of Wolfman, finding the sight before him amusing. He was carrying the two "Wind-siblings" as Hellion had called them in his head. "You guys can't go this way. Big trouble. Got any idea where the others are? I need to round everybody up." Hellion spoke quickly, hoping that the three at least had an idea about the other mutants' locations.

"Well, he went down somewhere." Whiteout spoke as he began to descend, following after where he had last scene Hellion. When he did land he was merely a few meters away from the other four. Whiteout let Ellie touch the ground as he headed over towards the group. 'Is he gathering everyone...?'

"We can manipulate air," Anemos answered Wolfman, keeping a steady hold on his sister.
Thyella jumped, surprised by Hellion's sudden appearance. She could "see" now and had easily recognized the teacher. "What do you mean 'big trouble?' I can try to find the others but with all the trees it'll be difficult."

"Hellion!" Ellie called out to her group leader, running up to him and the others.
"If anyone is hurt, I can help." she told him. She may not be useful in combat just yet... but there was at least something she could do.
And she didn't want to just be a burden.

Feral skidded to a halt near Hellion also, suddenly realising that the situation must have been even worse than it had seemed.
"What happened?" he asked the leader of the rival team, hoping for at least a little more insight to the situation.
Normally he would have changed back into his human form for the interaction, but considering the circumstances he thought it better to remain in the form he felt most adept in, the one he had lived in for several years.

Deadpool hung back for a moment, contemplating just what to do. On the one hand, he could teleport in there with high-explosives and kill the lot of them, but that'd probably ruin the plot. Instead he decided he would sit, cross-legged, on his conveniently high-up alcove that overlooked the battlefield, watching everybody through a pair of binoculars that I'm sure he didn't have just a moment ago.

"Any ideas on what cause the explosion?" Sora asked when he got their. He look at the people that was there and odds are none of them could have cause it.

When Deadpool didn't answer him, Cyclops decided to change his mode of communication. He ran towards Deadpool and fired a beam of red at him. "Get out of here, Wilson!" Though he was confident, he was also worried. The Brotherhood was bad enough, but Deadpool? Not sure why the merc was here, he worried for the New Mutants. He knew Deadpool's skill. The man was crazy, but he was deadly. He recalled an encounter with him where Gambit, an ally, was paired off against Deadpool. Gambit had paid the merc instead of fighting him, knowing Deadpool's skill.

"The Brotherhood," Wolfman growled as he stood on his hind legs, letting the twins off. It was a statement, not a question. He smelled Scorch. Terry hated Scorch. Though the New Mutants weren't supposed to fight the Brotherhood or other threats since they were not official X-Men, he had stumbled upon Scorch and Magneto while on a trip with Wolverine (who he was often paired up with when the New Mutants went out on X-Men missions since Wolverine's claws could handle him should anything happen to his necklace). There was a brief...confrontation. He remembered Wolverine's limbs bending in strange ways and his fur being burnt off. "Looks most of us are here. Let's take those suckers out, man," He told Hellion. "We can take them!"

Scorch approached the gathering of New Mutants. "Little X-Muties, come out and play!" He yelled. He didn't care about being quiet. With the range of powers the X-Men had, he was sure someone would detect him soon. Guess I'll have to get their attention, he mused as he stepped over a thick branch that had seemingly fallen off of a tree. He bent over, picked it up, and rubbed the end quickly. "I think it's time we had some fun!" He raised his voice again as the tip of the branch exploded in flame. "Let's play a game called 'BURN THE FOREST DOWN!'" He lobbed the branch towards the group. "Remember, only you can prevent forest fire!"

Thyella's head snapped towards the new voice. Who was it? Where were they? And what was that about a fire? Before she could ask, Anemos had taken her by the arm and pulled her behind him. He knew she couldn't see anything that wasn't a solid object -- and fire is not a solid object. He quickly started to think of what he could do to stop the rapidly growing fire. Could he create a kind of vacuum seal around the fire and extinguish it? Would trying only create winds that would fan the flames?
"Somebody better do something!" Anemos accepted that there wasn't much he or his sister could do with their abilities at this point. Their control of the air was too precise, not wide enough to handle something like this. His arm stayed around his back, his hand on Thyella's arm; if she was close to him, she was away from the flames.

Since Deadpool had apparently forgotten that Cyclops had even spoken to him, he didn't realise that he was even there until shot at by laser-eyes. He attempted to get out of the way, but was unable to dodge entirely, which left him with an odd-shaped hole in one of his arms.
"Owowow, lasers hot!" he yelled, fanning his arm as though it was on fire. Then he looked directly at Summers.
"No-can-do, ol' buddy!" he announced loudly for no apparent reason, "I'm paid to be here by the hour, and it hasn't gone a full one in RP time yet!"
He didn't seem to bother drawing any of his weapons despite saying this. Perhaps he forgot about those too.

"I'll see what I can do!" Mason said, pointing himself towards the center of the flames. There wouldn't be a huge amount he could do, and he knew it, but he might at least slow the fire down by vibrating in the right way.
He focused, staying deathly still and closing his eyes in concentration; it would be a big effort to stop a fire. The flames began to visibly slow down, but not stop.
They sure could have used Whirlpool at this point. Their enemies seemed to have planned the attack well.

OOC: Okay, not quite sure what's going on, but I'll try and make this work.

Being the newest member of the brotherhood, Phantom (Phantom is the short version of his alias) was still unsure of what to do. He had just followed the other members of the Brotherhood because he was pretty unsure of what kind of answer Deadpool would give him if he asked what he was supposed to do. Besides, it looked like he was having trouble with an opposing mutant as Phantom left anyways. The other two members of the Brotherhood, whom he had yet to meet, were a bit further ahead of him. If he was going to be a proficient member, he had to know his allies. He ran up to them quickly, making sure not to run past them, and began to ask questions. "Hey, uh, hold on a sec. You guys are with the Brotherhood, correct? He asked, ready to attack if he was wrong.

OOC Again: If something is wrong here please let me know.

'Damn. If only Smokey The Bear was here.' Ivan watched as another mutant slowed down the fire. He had an idea of how to stop it completely but he did not have the power to do something so extreme. "Hellion! Lift the trees!" Whiteout shouted as he swept his hands out in a wide horizontal arc, cutting all the nearby trees on fire right on their trunks by creating a sort of barrier within the trunks.

"Wait, wha-?" Hellion wasn't given much of a chance to respond as he saw the trunks of several tries glow as if something was splitting them apart. He took Whiteout's word for the idea and lifted the severed portion of the trees high into the air. "I really don't need to explain what's happening now, do I!?" Hellion called out towards the students.

"Now can you two put out the flames? There's plenty of room now!" Whiteout directed to Thyella and Anemos.

Giving Deadpool a high-powered laser-rifle was probably the least sane thing anybody could possibly do, and the fact that he was currently being paid to be on their side only alieviated that very slightly.
"Check it out, Gazerbeam!" he said to Cyclops mockingly, waving his new doorknob around, "Now I've basically got permission to godmod this thing!"

"Yeah, I think so." Anemos nodded to Whiteout. To Thyella he softly said, "Straight ahead and to the left, make a vacuum. I'll take the right."
"Okay," Thyella trusted her brother. She might be able to feel the flames if her air currents touched them. She stepped next to Anemos, ready to try.
The twins raised their arms, Thyella's angled to the left and Anemos' angled to the right. The air around everyone seemed to thicken as it was pulled away from the flames. Around the orange, red, and yellow of the unrelenting fire there appeared to be a white sheen of wind. The twins' arms moved to the side, stretching the air around the flames and appearing the pull them; then their arms came together between them, slamming the air around the flames together, cutting off the oxygen that was feeding them. The flames extinguished suddenly, leaving a tall, dark column of smoke to rise to the sky.
"Not bad," Anemos huffed to his sister. It was a lot of air to control -- not an easy feat for them.
"I smell smoke," Thyella frowned. With a sharp wave of his hand, Anemos banished the smoke away from the group with a gust of wind. It would've been bad for them all to be breathing that.

Feral gave a deep sigh, feeling better now that he didn't have to hold back the flames himself. He lay down on his stomach to rest for a moment, panting somewhat. Controlling something as wild and unpredictable as naked flames was clearly exhausting work.

"I see, I'll keep that in mind." Phantom watched as Deadpool flaunted his new weapon at the opposing Mutant. Phantom rolled his eyes, "Come on, just finish him!" He thought. He looked at the portal, unsure of what was on the other side. "So, what exactly is on the other side of that portal? Weapons?" He asked, hoping he was correct.

"Knightmare! New guy! Stop dancing around that stupidly-dressed mercenary and give me a hand here!" Scorch yelled as he approached Hellion and the mutants. "I'm dangerously outnumber!!" He yelled it with a smile and opened his palms. "Though I must say I like these odds, don't you?" He asked Hellion as soon as he was within normal speaking distance. "What do you say we make this a sausafest? No girls allowed!" He set his sights on Ellie and thrust his arm forward, his palm aimed at her. A stream of fire shot out in her direction. "You, too, twinnie," he did the same with his other hand, aimed at Thyella and Anemos.

Wolfman's instincts got the better of him and he let out a bark as he jumped to towards Ellie. His bulky arms were quickly around her as they flew out of the way. He made sure to land on his shoulder so as to roll and break her fall. "You okay, El?" He said, calling her by a shortened name. Though he was used to calling his other teammates by their codenames, he didn't think Ellie belonged on the battlefield just yet so he refused to think she earned a codename. He didn't think low of her, he just thought she needed protection.

"Godmod this!" Cyclops yelled it as he dove forward, rolled, landed on one knee, and launched a very wide blast towards Deadpool. "What do you want, Wilson?! Why are you with the Brotherhood?"

"No!" Anemos moved in front of his sister, creating an angled wall of air that sent the jet of flames over their heads. His arms were raised and bent in front of him like a shield, keeping the wall of air in place; he could only keep it there for about five minutes though.
Thyella's heart pounded. How could she fight something she couldn't see? She couldn't leave her brother to do all the fighting either. Her useless pride wouldn't allow her to sit back and be protected.

"Hey, what happened?" A kind hand rubbed Elena's shoulder.
"I-I ra-ran into... th-the wall," Elena, ten years old, sobbed, sitting on the kitchen floor of their home.
"You've got to be more careful," Elijah pulled Elena to her feet. "Here," He picked up her walking stick and placed it in her hands. "Use this more."
"B-but, I don't like it," Elena dropped the white and red stick.
"Then hold my hand," Elijah took Elena's hand in his. "And don't let go."

    And I didn't. For years, I didn't.
Thyella grit her teeth. No more. No more letting him do things for me. Her right arm swung in an arc, sending a vicious blast of air at Scorch. She couldn't see his fire, but he was perfectly clear to her.

Ellie was in a slight state of shock as Wolfman saved her.
She didn't mind about the shortening of her name, she didn't have a code-name as of yet.
"I-I'm fine... thank you." she said, calming down.
...Why was she such a burden... was she that useless?
Did she always need to be protected?
The fact was, Wolfman could have endangered himself by getting her out of the way of the flames. She didn't want to hurt anyone... 'nor did she want anyone to get hurt because of her.
But really, the way the world was... wishing for such a thing seemed like just a childish dream.
...Her life had changed so much since she had awoken to her mutation... she was no longer with her family... her friends... and she was a danger.
But... this guy... the hot-head. He was also a danger... more of a danger than she was.
He thrived on hurting people, while she didn't... and people could truly get hurt by him, he'd go out of his way to do it.
She felt herself getting a little worked up.
No matter how scared she was, of her enemies... or her powers. One thing that she would never do is just stand by while other people needed her. While her friends needed her... She'd rather die.
She stood up, a fist clenched.
Her voice felt forced... but she tried to put her meaning and intention behind them. "You leave them alone! You say no girls allowed, but I'll take you down!" she felt foolish as she said it, wondering if she sounded like as much of a fool as she felt.
But, she was dead serious. She hated hurting people... but... she would stop Scorch if she had to.
Then she thrust out her hand and sent a vicious blast of Lighting through the air at the Brotherhood Mutant.
The fact that she had a hard time holding back her power would hopefully work in her favour this time, as it would definitely be a powerful blast that might warn Scorch off, or knock him out of commission entirely.

Feral had little just but to stay down low, where the flames, winds, and now electricity wouldn't harm him. Controlling vibrations was all good and well, but when your main power relies on the natural traits of animals, there's little you can do against the most combat-orientated powers.
If only I'd focused on training my vibrations more, I'd be able to hit him with a shockwave. he thought to himself.

    ~

Deadpool had very few options to dodge, so he drew both of his katanas and attempted to reflected at least some of the damage away, since the healing factor would take care of the rest. Well, in truth the healing factor would work anyway, but being dead even temporarily would be a nuisance.
"I'm here for the same reason you are, Psyche!" he said cheerfully, despite having laser-inflicted scratches all over his body. "Getting the new kids some training against another group of mutants!"
