Bree leveled with him on an opposing tree, still hidden and noted who it was. Seeing it was someone from the opposing team, she took a deep breath, readiing herself to fight silently. She didn't know what abilities he had but at least she had the element of suprise and his balance left much to be desired. With a final nod to herself, she decided she had to do this, the longer she remained there, the more likely he was to spot her. With one quick movement she pushed herself out of the tree she was in and leapt over to him. She flew through the air her feet positioned as to make first contact with him, her force behind it and her arms spread out, ready to catch a branch. She didn't fancy falling from this height.

 

Whirlpool heard the sound of movement. He turned just a little too slowly. He was kicked in the stomach, knocked out of the tree. He twisted himself around midair, landing on the ground shakily and looked up at the attacker. "Ah, i was getting slightly...bored. I guess you're on the other team then. Well, try not to make this too easy on me" he said confidently, cracking his knuckles whilst watching Bree carefully.

 

Regaining his composure, Feral heard something. It was faint, barely detected even with a wolf's hearing, but it was there. A rapid thumping... a heavy heartbeat? Forgetting himself in his insticts again, he let out a long, loud howl into the air. In the wilds it would have alerted his pack to his findings, but here it only served to reveal his location to anyone that could hear it, which would likely be most of both squads. Silently cursing himself at his idiocy, he concentrated on finding the source of the heartbeat, shutting his eyes and focusing his hearing.

 

Bree grinned as she hit him then grabbed the tree to land on the branch. "Oh don't worry, I won't" She said before leaping down between branches to the ground. "So, shall we get this fight started?" She asked, standing straight looking directly at him, challenging him and observing his reactions.

 

Whirlpool was shocked by the sudden descent to the ground, however he did his best not to show it. He raised an eyebrow. "Well aren't we a confident one?" he questioned. He considered the idea of launching a burst of water straight at his attacker, but quickly dismissed the idea. Best not to reveal my hand until i need to Whirlpool thought to himself. He took two steps towards Bree. "This won't last long" he said, a little too confidently. He swung his leg around in an attempt to sweep Bree's feet.
OOC: Sorry for leaving it here, but i really gotta get some sleep. Almost 2am and i've got school lectures that i need to stay awake in XD so...night lol

 

Ellie let out a little yelp from the sudden howling as she jumped out of her skin (not literally... which might be possible for some mutants...)
She quickly clasped a hand to her mouth and tried to take calm breaths to slow her heart down which was now beating faster and harder.
The howl had been the same time as her yelp... so she hoped no one would have heard her.
Her heart started to slow although she was still on edge.
The howl had snapped her back into reality, she started to move again slowly and quietly, away from the source of the howling.
I'm such a coward... she thought miserably to herself. ...I've got to work harder, or I'll hold the other Paragon's back. But I... she trailed off in her own mind.
What if the howl had been Terry?
He was an ally.
But of course... she hadn't known him for long, but he didn't seem prone to making such a mistake and revealing his location... but of course, that could be intentional since he seemed like the type of guy to go straight into the fight.
But... there was that other guy wasn't there? The X-force guy who could change...
it could be him too...
Not wanting to risk it, she continued to move in the opposite direction of where she had heard the howling.
It's not that she was scared in particular... she just wasn't used to being in situations like this, which was obviously the point of the training.
Further more... she was more scared of hurting someone than of being hurt.
She knew everyone was pretty tough. But she still didn't feel too confident about her use of her electrical powers, even though she had a lot more control over them than her invisibility which is what she was using right now.
Her mind flashed to the girl she had rendered unconscious from a simple shock... It had been an accident, she hadn't even known she could do such a thing, she hadn't known that she was a mutant.
Yes... if she had to use her powers, she would be in control this time, but the thought still made her nervous.
which is why she was trying to avoid any form of confrontation right now. Please... don't find me...
Right now... her power of invisibility seemed perfect for a coward like her.

 

Bree stood her ground as he walked towards her, narrowing her eyes, expecting him to try something. She was right. She spotted his leg coming and decided to jump instead of using her power. She'd never imagined that the game she used to play jumping over skipping ropes would come in handy. She jumped just in time and his leg went straight under her, although she slightly misjudged her landing. She hit the ground slightly off balance but compensated by throwing a punch in his direction. "You sure about that? And you called me confident"
OOC: Fair enough, night.

 

Hearing the howling, Sora stopped in his tracks. "Looks like someone's having some fun. Let's see, It could've been Terry but, just to be safe I probably shouldn't go that way. He thought stopping next to a tree. Getting tired of looking around he decided to let them try and find him for a while. He just had to make sure he hadn't lowered his guard if someone had found and decided to attack.

 

Whirlpool chuckled slightly. "Believe me, it won't" he said, a cold tone in his voice. Standing firmly on two feet, he carefully blocked the punch. He didn't knock the arm out of the way, he merely stopped it. He stared directly at Bree, his face showing next to no emotion. "You lack technique" was all he said, and without taking his eyes off of Bree he swung his right arm around, attempting to hit her in the side.

 

Mason finally locked onto to the girl's sounds and scent. With this, he could undoubtedly track her exact location, but he sensed something else in the air around him. Fear. Not so much fear of him, but fear of the confrontation itself. He sighed inwardly at this, deciding that his tracking had been wasted. Unless he could convince her to want the fight... Using Vibration Control, the wolf spoke to the girl.
"If you don't want to fight, that's fine, I won't force you to. But you should know, that you can't get stronger unless you face your fears." he said to her, in a calming tone. "That's my advice, anyway. Take it, or don't."
And with that, the white wolf padded in a different direction, leaving the girl, Ellie, to herself.


Deadpool continued sitting in his spot, and had apparently taken to doing very poor impressions of celebrities, X-men, and various other people that he knew of, in order to keep himself amused. He was in the midst of placing cutlery between his fingers in what was probably his worst impression yet, when he heard the a faint crackling sound, as though from some sort of fire. He immediately leaped up and ran towards the source, believing that he had finally located one of his 'recruits', Scorch.
"That better be something relevant to the plot." he yelled to himself, "It's been three pages of this thing and I've had the least screentime out of everyone!"

 

"Let's make it quick then, and you're not as good as you think you are either", she wasn't suprised her punch was blocked, she knew it wasn't the best she could do anyway, it's main purpose was to regain her balance. She simply smiled at him and made no movement to dodge or block his incoming arm, as if she hadn't even noticed it. She decided to show her hand, she phased and when his fist would of made contact with her, it went straight through her and she burst to life. She ran through Whirlpool and sent a well aimed elbow towards his head before swinging round her leg to kick him high, all within a few breif seconds.

 

Whirlpool fell forwards onto the ground as he was hit. "So, that's what you can do is it?" he questioned. He laughed slightly. "And here i was thinking you had a DANGEROUS power" he said. He rolled over onto his back and fired a very fast burst of water straight at Bree's face.

 

"Oh, you'd be suprised" She said just before he rolled over, she simply phased as he rolled and allowed the water to pass straight through her. She was used to his kind of reaction to her power and she was determined to prove them wrong. Also his power did end up being slightly useless with her if he couldn't touch her. For when she phased she was untouchable. Admittedly it was more defensive than offensive, which left them in a stalemate. She did know one way to make her power quite dangerous but she'd sworn she would never use her power that way. She raised an eyebrow, even if he couldn't see it through the water and took a few steps towards him.

 

Seeing that the water wasn't working, Whirlpool decided to use a different tactic. "Ah you silly people, thinking you can outmatch me" he stated. He rolled backwards, stood up, and fired a blast of water directly at the ground beneath Bree. If i can cause the ground to become wet enough, she'll slip. If she slips, she'll lose her concentration. That's when i'll strike he thought to himself, fast running out of ideas.

 

Bree frowned at first as he aimed lower, which she was originally thankful for as it gave her time to actually breath. She had to hold her breath all the time before but she now needed to know what he was doing, which she realised pretty fast as she started to slide backwards with the mud. She changed her postition to one she could keep her balance better but still. She knew one thing she could do but she wasn't that good at it yet, she was still working on it. But she didn't have much choice. She quickly put one leg up as if to climb a stair, which automatically made her unsteady as she tried to concentrate before bringing the other leg up. She grinned as she realised she'd done it, she was standing on thin air. But this was difficult and she wasn' sure how long she could keep it up, she had to get him before it failed. She began walking across thin air towards him, concentrating deeply, she had to phase anyway for this to work.

 

Whirlpool raised an eyebrow. "Well, that's different" he said quietly. He stopped pouring water onto the ground. "Certainly original" he stated. He reached inside the pocket of his jacket for his dagger, something he would usually use in a fight. He then remembered he was not in a serious battle. He was not risking his life. He pulled his hand out of the pocket, not holding anything. "Ah, you're making this too easy!" he exclaimed. How the hell am i supposed to hit her now?! he thought frantically to himself. Taking careful aim with his right arm, he fired a small burst of water straight at Bree.
OOC: Editing the character post so that Whirlpool can, if he chooses, become water itself for only a few seconds, gaining the ability to avoid most attacks while advancing upon his opponent. If this is a problem, VM me or PM me and i'll fix it.

 

Bree hardley even noticed the water pass through her, she was more concerned about this whole walking on air thing, she was still working on it and it was still a fairly new thing to her, taking a lot of concentration. She suspected it would get easier with time, like phasing with other people had but for now, it still took a decent amount of work. She was heading towards him because she figured she had to get him before it failed. The only problem was she wasn't sure how to do that, she had to stop phasing in order to make contact with him and actually hurt him but that made her vunerable to his attacks. She'd seen his water attacks and wasn't that keen on getting hit.

 

Ellie heard the voice in the air and dropped to her knees, hugging herself.
The voice was right... but she couldn't bring herself to take it's advice either.
She stayed there for a while. Not noticing how much time was passing.

 

"I don't know what the hell you're talking about," Johnny whispered as the entire anthill caught aflame beneath his hand. Sorry, I'm the only Queen around here~ he thought to himself as he stood up, ignoring the small flame on the sidewalk, "But I'm sure the reason you haven't seen any action is because you're not the most creative leader out there, eh?" He raised his hand and traced the tribal tattoo on his face before brushing his pink hair away from his gray eyes. "Magneto left you in charge and no matter how brilliant that man may be, it seems like a...not so brilliant move. But, if you want action," his voice dropped as he took a step forward Deadpool, a slight strut in his feet, "I know a little something something you might be interested in?"

Cyclops saw movement from the corner of his eye the moment Hellion dove. "Wha-?" Before he could react, a tree trunk was in front of him. The X-Men leader dove to the side, just as another tree hit him. He raised his hand to his visor and after a flash of red, there was no more tree. He tried to blast the third tree, too, but it was so close, the explosion of wood hurt and sent him rolling backwards. Nice move for a rookie, he thought as he hit the wet grass.

"No fair!" Wolfman yelled as he was blasted forward. His body became engulfed in dark fur as he hit a branch. Snap! Wolfman wasn't sure if the snap was his arm or the branch he just broke through, but his limbs flailed through the air until he hit the ground, his descent slowed by another gust of air. "Not fair at all," He growled as he stood up, his uniform covered in dirt and leaves. Wolfman was now much bigger in form and covered in fur; he was a full-on 'werewolf.' "You're going to pay for that!"He said it loudly, sure his opponent would hear him. Terry could still talk as Wolfman, though it was a raspier and deeper version of his human voice. His mind ran through all of the New Mutants he knew, trying to identify the attack that hit him, but to be honest, he didn't know a single X-Force member aside from Whiteout and the attack was too vague of one for him to even discern the mutant ability. He raised one hand to his shoulder and could feel it crunching beneath his skin as his arm's bones healed themselves. Once it was fixed, he turned around."Guess I'll have to sniff you out!" He growled loudly as he dropped to all fours. His face dropped slightly as he started to sniff the air, looking for the closest human.

 

Whirlpool took a deep breath. He jumped backwards a couple of meters, giving more distance between himself and Bree. Gotta figure out how to stop this person...and fast he thought, mind working frantically as he attempted to think of a solution to his problem.
