Well,maybe he just thought Marluxia was the strongest out of tem.I say Axel is,but or Xemans wasn't thinking at the time.But who knows,maybe he just needed a leader.I truley say that Axel,or Zexion should have been the leader.

well zexion would be an awesome leader but i think luxord should have been the last boss since his weapons are cards

 

Well...

I think Xemnas could forsee that Sora could take Marluxia on. He did, after all, actually fight him in KHFM. It could have also been him that landed Sora and pals right by Castle Oblivion, being entirely in his power to do so. Good question though.

 

i dont think Xemnas is stupid. xemnas wanted marluxia eliminated so he put marluxia there thinking he'd go after sora, and he did. and when he did he perished just like Xemnas dictated.

 

Wasn't there something about making CO their new HQ? I think that was said in New Scene 5 on the KH2FM+ section of this site (I only downloaded the unsubbed version, so I can't be sure, but I think that's what happened - they mentioned it right around when one of the Org members told Zexion he found "Mar- something" in the scene.) So maybe Marluxia was put there to sort of "test the waters", and hopefully get wiped out (hence the 2 layers of danger for him - Axel and Sora)

 

No,they said that the experiments with memories weren't the true purpose of exploring CO.
The other purpose was searching for another "Friend",and maybe they where thinking some members were going to betray the org,so,they sent said members to that place.

 

Xemnas knew Marluxia had traitorous thoughts or suspected it at the most so he decided to send him away to Castle Oblivion but made sure to send Zexion, Lexaeus and Vexen (Axel too) to watch him.
