I was thinking about Marluxia's character. Do you also think that his design was born from that of the Death? His scythe, plus the organization cloak, make his looking like the dark reaper, especially when he is hooded. Plus the sinister atmosphere of the castle and his words to Sora before their second fight, increase this feeling. What do you think?

I doubt it. Thematically Death doesn't play a part of his character at all.

Well, for the Japanese.... Cherry Blossoms represent Life and Death. Which means....

Scythe-wielding man + the power of Cherry Blossoms = Embodiment of Death itself.

    So.... Yeah, you're right.

Plus in his third form behind Marluxia there is a giant black angel wielding his scythe (death's angel?). And one of his attacks is called death shythe.

Yeah, Marluxia's power is death, in his Data Organization fight he puts a death curse on Sora, and I'm fairly certain his limit break in Days can cause instant death

In addition to what hatok said, he can also use doom during the final boss of Re:Com. If you don't break all his cards before his timer runs out (5-0) you die. No questions asked. I have honestly been an observer of this fact for some time... I mean, I wasn't the one who figured it out, it was pointed out to me in a youtube video. In what are pretty much Vagineers' exact words. Try searching top ten scythe wielders.
