mario bros movie

has anybody ever seen that old live action super mario brothers movie? i thought it was pretty weird; it didn't really follow the games. What are your thoughts?

 

That movie was by far the biggest disgrace to movies and Mario ever.

Such a stupid *** movie.

 

I saw it when I was just a kid, so seeing as I was easily entertained...I loved that movie. Still do, even if it is incredibly cheesy and such. It's a childhood memory, I wish I actually owned the video.

 

the only good thing i can say about that movie, is that it was 90 mins long. I had forgotten about this movie until i saw this post and realized that they should do a remake of the game not the movie now that visual effects and computers dominate.

 

I loved it as a wee lass. I use to watch it all the time with my brothers, thinking it was amazing. I look back at it now and think how on earth did i like that? I guess it's still entertaining, in a cheesy way.

 

Despite being SO cheesy I still loved that movie.

What's funny is that Nintendo Power said the exact same thing. They too, thought it was a horrible movie and the only good point about it was being 90 minutes. Other than that, it blew big time.

As for me, I didn't know how to pronounce Bob-omb correctly until they used the term in the movie. I always thought it was "Bom-bomb" not "B-bomb." ;)

Goombas being created by sucking all intelligence out of ordinary humans. Big Bertha being some fat...whatever she is. Koopa being some mutant reject from the X-men. Luigi not even having a mustache. Mario not having an Italian accent. And needing rocket boots (Of all things!) to fly around. The only thing they got right were the names "Mario Mario", "Luigi Mario" and the fact that they were plumbers from Brooklyn.

And for those of you who haven't seen the movie, the only reason to watch it is the novelty. Other than that, you're not missing anything.

 

I actually thought it was entertaining to me as a kid. Even though it didn't go with the games.
