I can't believe they allowed him to not drive the bus. If that had been Christian or Muslim "propaganda" on the side of the bus he would have been disciplined. But no, who has ever heard of protecting atheists?

Well I can see why he got let off, some people could be very offended by the bus if it went passed. Especially if that was on the side of the bus going through my village it would be ripped apart by the sheer anger some religious believers would have. But you are right saying that if it was religious propaganda the bus driver would be in trouble not let off the hook.

Atheists deserve the same rights of expression as religious people do. This is just sad and pathetic.

That is in no way discrimination against atheists. That is a christian refusing to do his job because he didn't like what was being advertised. If you were a black person and had to drive a bus that said "Whites are probably better than blacks because we said so" or some **** like that you'd probably wanna just leave as well, but no one considers that discrimination againts whites. Don't hate the man because he's a christian and don't consider this christains hating atheists. It's a man refusing to do his job because he's letting his beliefs get in the way.

That's probably because it doesn't matter what you do to a white person anymore, it's not racist unless it's a white person doing it to someone else.

    Quoted for truth.

To me, every other religion (or lack thereof) and every other race/ethnic group deserves to be respected/allowed equally to Christianity. But not MORE than Christianity/whites. If a Christian doesn't want to drive a "No God" bus, fine. Get someone who honestly believes that [a] God doesn't exist to drive it. Problems solved. No reason to ***** about it.

At the risk of getting off topic, a woman was told that she wasn't allowed to wear a pin that said something or other about Jesus Christ and Christmas to her job. It would offend people who don't believe in Him. Fair enough. But another woman was allowed to wear her turban to work, and was given adequate time to do her daily prayers at the same chain of stores (not the exact same store, a store at a different location, mind you). Should we suppress one religion but allow others? America was originally inhabited by dudes trying to practice their own religion without getting persecuted. Christianity shouldn't be kicked to the curb so others can take over. There has to be some sort of balance.

I was raised Catholic, but I don't consider myself Catholic. Hell, I'm not even sure if "God" exists. I do believe there is some sort of HigherBeing (:3), but whether or not its God... I dunno. I guess shlt like this will happen as long as there are people from different backgrounds. Maybe Obama will take over the world, and make us worship his ass. . .

That would be my reason for not driving it, I wouldn't want to either for fear of being clobbered with slabs of concrete.

Did anyone ever think about how the advertisement is offending Christianity? (Wow, I seem insanely religious on this forum, even though I'm not). Think about it, do you think a Muslim bus driver would be okay with driving a bus with an advert saying "There's probably no Allah"?
Seriously. You people make me laugh.

Weird-o. I still take the bus every morning even though I go to a catholic school and have to listen to them all day, not to include that I take a bus with signs about God and stuff like that on the side of the bus. Like seriously stfu-so what? The people don't even think anything of the bus driver when they see it. It's things like this that get me annoyed with religions. Then they go even further and attack the atheists, or people that aren't even a religion and asking what's going to happen to us when we are on our death bed, well then whatever, I don't see why dying would change anything. Almost dying changes nothing, but dying changes everything. Nothing in there that includes a god.

Well, whatever, if it had been any other religion on the bus he would have been flamed/fired/suspended or whatever else there is.

This is bull. Why can't the man ****ing try to understand the point of the message? If you get rid of the God part, it's still the same message. Stop worrying.

In the end, if a Christian would say it's fine to put on a bus that God exists, he/she should also be willing to let there be a sign saying there is no God. I think that religion really, whether advocating for or against it, should not be advertised at all on buses, but that's just my thought there. I'm Atheist and would rather that religious advertisements be at churches with their hokey signs they put up rather than seeing it all the time on buildings, posters etc elsewhere. If Christians want to gripe about a stupid bus sign, I'm all for it going down once I see the Christian paraphernalia also come down. Fair is fair.

Exactly, that was the whole reason the campaign started in the first place. Richard Dawkins was sick of seeing Christian messages all over the inside and outside of public buses. So he decided to put the Atheist alternative.

It is discrimination against the Atheist viewpoint, sorry if I misrepresented what I meant to say. Basically it is perfectly acceptable for there to be Christian messages but as soon as Atheist messages go up saying something along the same vein (Christian messages saying that god exists, Atheist messages saying that there is probably no god. It's a watered down version and there is still a furore.) Christians kick up a fuss. Talk about suppressing the competition.

Listen, this is like you having to wear a T-shirt while doing your job that said: "Jesus rocks."

This is, in no way, discrimination. And judging from your signature, I'm pretty disgusted by it. You're insulting Christianity. Before you post a topic like this again, remove that signature. Then, you might have an argument that the world is 'picking' on athiests. It really is the other way around: Athiests are picking on Christianity. You're calling it stupid and an 'intellectual suicide'.

So do athiests. Just look at your signature.

Actually, you and Fallout are making fools of yourselves by acting like it's okay to discriminate against atheists. And insulting atheists. So I'm actually pretty disgusted by you.

Where in my post did I say it was 'okay' to discriminate against athiests...
