maybe (I don't know if it's possible) But you could show the name if the + repped you and not if they didn't. It does say after you give rep that you may receive it in return. so either IMO make it this way or make it so you can't de-rep.

Yes, it has, and I think it was by you.

Anyways, I say no. We have the rule that you can choose to rep or de-rep the person anonymously for a reason.

I prefer when rep. giving/receiving stays anonymous. When I was in another forum, these kids would keep fussing and flaming for hours about the people sending them - rep. To be honest, this system works. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

true true. I think though that there should be an option on the rep thin, to send rep to the person who sent you it. Without having to know who it was. That way there is no way of bullying.

Oh! Well that's a different idea. Theoretically it could work, although I don't know how that would be possible. It would be nice to have, but it seems a bit unnecessary.

Well.. It's nice to know who gives you rep points, but it's up to the person giving the rep to tell you hwo it was. That's only fair. *shrugs*

I won't mind sticking to the system used now.

I have to agree with Vivi, furthermore, that probably would start a rep or even a flame war.

This has been suggested before but for obvious reasons was declined.

Members will abuse the system even more.

    Automatic rep naming

I think that whether it be good or bad rep that the name of the user should appear along-side it.It is unfair when people bad rep you for no reason and you don't know who did it to you.
I know that some of you will say it will start rep wars where each person bad reps the other as much as possible but maybe an eye for an eye system could be set up so if your bad repped unfairly that you inform a mod and they take double the amount of points out of the unfair de-repper.It would teach people not bad rep unfairly.

    What do you think?

I don't think that the name should be posted, but you're right when you say that you should be able to report questionable bad rep and it should be deleted if for no reason. In general, I don't think rep is such a great idea, cause everyone should be able to say what they want without people judging them, and worrying about their "rep" getting damaged. But it will always be on here, so reporting bad rep should be allowed. But it also goes both ways, because people shouldn't be able to randomly post good rep either just people beacuse they feel like it. Also, maybe even all rep should have to be approved by a mod before being in effect. But that might just be too much work.

Reporting is allowed but i'd like to know who would bad rep me and why.I think that everyone is entitled to know who bad or good reps them.

I don't really like that idea. Sometimes people want to give rep secretely to somebody and not be known. Also, if a person is derepped and they know who derepped them, they may be childish enough to harrass that person. I just think it's too much trouble, basically =/.

Hah, it'd never work. It'd be like requesting war.

But on the other hand it would be kinda handy since I'm sure someone would be to much afraid to get neg rep back that peeps wouldn't neg rep.

I agree. Grudges are always a bad thing. People have givin' me bad rep, and I'd rather not know. I'd rather not always hate somebody because of it.

Then it's not real rep. Bad rep should be able to be given freely to a bad post without worrying whether or not the bad rep would be returned.

Yeaaaah, that probably won't be happening for the reason people have already mentioned - if a rep was given unfairly you can ask the staff about it. In my opinion it doesn't help you knowing who gave the rep, what helps is knowing why it was given to you, usually you'll get a clue by the message or the origin of post you made.

There's also different views on what's fair or not. Some people get repped just for the hell of it, while others are legit reps.
    Same with dereps.

I'm not even sure if we can enable that, anyway. O.o

But remember, rep is like candy. It can be given out randomly and taken away just as randomly; being given rep makes people happy and getting rep taken away makes people sad.
    Then if they know who did what, people would possibly flip out and be like, "O U WHOAR" and then it all goes downhill from there. >_>;;
