I'm not sure I quite agree with your analysis. Um, I'm not saying that Al is mafia, in fact I've agreed with a lot of what he said so far as it makes sense and I don't find him suspicious at all. However, I dislike this method of proving Al's innocence, I'm just not that great at analysis so I hope I can explain why.

I have several problems with this.

Okay first, I'm not convinced that this was an "amateur" move on the part of the mafia. Yes, the reasons for them killing him are easily guessed but that doesn't make it a bad move on their part and it doesn't really narrow down the suspects for us. Krowley was a member who had the abilities to be a threat to mafia but at the same time, he hadn't really done anything in the first day, if we look back on his first few posts he hasn't really given anything that we could analyse, whereas nearly everyone else has. Tbh it seems like a good move on the part of mafia as he gave off the feeling that even though he was quiet D1, he wouldn't stay that way. I said before, it might not be that that his accusations were right, it might be that they wanted to take him out before he had chance to accuse them. Were you expecting us all to be like the two people who he accused must be mafia??

Okay and 2, I don't know how you could be so confident that Al is town. If you're town, you don't know his alignment therefore there is still a chance he could be mafia. Just because you like him shouldn't blind you to this fact. Also I refuse anyone can know exactly how the other person will play. Especially if someone is mafia, they might intentionally kill someone that you wouldn't expect them to. He wouldn't kill someone quiet? How do you know? Also it was implied that Krowley wouldn't stay quiet.

You've taken a huge risk in defending someone to this extent and tbh I'm not sure even why you felt the need, nobody was really suspecting him at all before this. This early in the game, I don't think you should be that certain about anybody.

Furthermore, the mafia are probably very new? This is a hell of an assumption to make and if we take this as truth, it could completely blind us to if there is a more experienced player on the team.

I'm really sorry about this, I feel kinda mean, you put a lot of effort into this and like I said, I don't actually suspect Al at all but this entire post really irks me.

I will ask you one thing then: In what way did you feel your vote for G-dog would make a difference? I am actually curious on two levels here. The first is the more obvious objective, which would be to secure the G-dog lynch. The more subtle level is how your vote (or anyone's vote, for that matter) can be used as a concrete indication of your own standpoint. This is important because saying you're suspicious of someone and then not doing anything is not the same as actually voting for them, which you did.

Like Midnight said Krowley could have been killed because he could be a threat in the future. It could also be to try and frame who he suspected but I doubt that because it would be kind of obvious.

Also, not trying to be rude but no one has accused Al yet so there's no need to defend that much until we get more posts from those who hadn't been here and shared their thought yet today. But you should be careful because like Mish said, you could be defending mafia.

Not sure what you're getting at with your second point? Could you reword?

Maybe I will answer both points with this: I voted for G-Dog because he wasn't helping town in that his posts were difficult to understand. I was not particularly suspicious of him.

I posted my reasoning for voting for him here:

Um I think what Judge is asking is why you felt a need to vote even when he had several votes on him? Because you were leaving did you think that just saying your suspitions meant nothing if you didn't act on your word by placing an actual vote? Do you think if someone just says a suspition but doesn't act on it and vote it doesn't count? I think that's the general gist.

Tbh I kinda understand you as I have to leave before the day ends too (timezones are awkward sometimes) and before I go, I usually want to put in a vote or make sure all my feelings are known because I know I won't be able to impact the outcome any more after I leave. It was just troublesome this time as your additional vote was a factor meaning it got to hard lynch must factor that we would have liked.

    (Did that make any sense?)

Oh additionally I really like the point you made that both Al and Cal are unlikely to be mafia together because if they were that would be far too obvious and I don't think Cal is that stupid. Cal might be mafia or Al might be mafia but I doubt they both are.

Those are all true. If Al and I are both Mafia doing something like this would be really dumb, and town could potentially win much quicker as well.

Obviously @Mish and @Midnight Star there's no way to know for sure. It's just a theory and I did say I could be wrong on the Mafias reasoning, but it was just a suggestion/theory to help us moving/talking. Which it's done whether it's a disagreement or agreement among the town.

And my whole reasoning in regards to Krowley is that they saw him as MORE of a threat then he really was, so in that way it wouldn't be bad to kill him. That's not what I'm saying. The amateur move I see here is using his death to further suspicion on Al and I.

    Also @Ghost and @Midnight Star
And I didn't think that you guys would go for us right away. I was doing this as a preemptive measure rather then a paranoid defense method, in order to clear your mind now so we could look at other people. It's like putting a screen on the window to keep the bugs out. Instead of trying to catch the moth that came in when you opened it, it won't come in at all.

However, Midnight, it's interesting how your respond contrasts to Mish. Mish is a lot more calm or 'detached' in her response. But I see you as almost "offended" or defensive in some of your responses. Especially these pieces:

Obviously the content in your posts are solid points, they have to be to be helpful, but it's the delivery. Maybe I'm reading too much into your tone, but you seem defensive, like you're Mafia yourself and maybe insulted I thought you had to be new. Maybe you made the decision to get rid of Krowley and my post is one giant slap in the face, so you have to make sure people know it 'could be' "an experience player", being you, made that decision.

And maybe just on that I'll decide to vote Midnight for now. I want to see what other people think, and what she thinks first obviously, but we haven't cast any votes today and now is a good time to start. Maybe I'm drinking too much lake water? Who knows, that's why I want to hear what the other town have to say.[DOUBLEPOST=1467493901][/DOUBLEPOST]##Vote: Midnight Star

I was typing up my response, but Midny beat me to it. Yeah, basically what she said. My fault there for not being too clear, I guess I'm still a bit rusty.

In hindsight, I was a bit umm well it was less defensive and more um irritated? (Not necessarily with you, more how do I respond) I don't know. But I can see what you mean though. Okay so normally I find it really difficult to form opinions and everyone's analysis looks amazing and yeah. I didn't like the logic that you used in that post and I was really struggling to put into words why. I first read your post at like 3pm (Don't know what that is EST) but due to stuff happening I couldn't get onto respond to you until I posted and even then, I was really struggling to explain why i didn't like your logic. Yeah, I said that far too emotionally? So I don't blame you for voting me for that. I was really harsh to you too, sorry!!

@Calxiyn I wasn't really going after you guys, I was agreeing with them that it is possible that one of you could be mafia. Not necessarily accusing anyone, yet.

    Also, hey Novaaa c:

Okay then, um. I do think that having a standpoint but not voting is 'worth' something, although not as much as actually voting. In fact, it could even be incriminating if you say one thing and don't follow through with a vote. I hope this is answering your question...

But, as I said, I didn't really have a 'standpoint' in terms of town vs mafia alignment for G-Dog.

@Calxiyn Bit rash, don't you think? You're talking about Midny's tone, which I don't think is a great basis to suspect she's mafia. Tbh your post did make me think "U WOT M8?" but I guess that didn't come through in my own post. Midny is a bit of a grey area for me.. not sure. However, I do find it a bit odd that you seem set on her, Cal? On the very first night, you suggested that she was mafia, based on little evidence and you're doing it again.. Admittedly, we don't have that much to go on unless more people post, but I think you're clutching at straws here.[DOUBLEPOST=1467497808][/DOUBLEPOST]I say 'night'. It was night to me, I'm referring to this post:

I have to agree with this post. @Calxiyn , you're being awfully defensive of Al in a game where roles are supposed to be kept secret.

I'm tempted to believe you're either a cop who's investigated your friend or a mafia member who knows Al's alignment one way or the other. I could be wrong, of course, but that's just the vibe I'm getting from you as of now.

Is it a good idea to speculate the identity of the cop? I certainly wouldn't advise it. I'm really wondering why you would post that.. especially, when you have just said that roles are supposed to be kept secret, the cop being the most important role in this game!

    ##Vote: Cat~

You might have just compromised our most valuable asset. Maybe you are a mafia member, trying to learn the cop's identity and get rid of them quickly during the next night phase. I'm willing to vote on it.

That might have been an innocent mistake but I agree that speculating who the identity of the cop is a really bad idea and will only help mafia.

Yeah, I'll admit I should've kept my mouth shut. But even so, the odds that I'm right are 1/11.
It's just that with how analytical Cal's posts have been up until now, her having absolute faith in anyone at this point is unsettling.

I'll admit, I made a mistake. However, I feel like even without me spelling it out it would've been pretty clear that being mafia isn't the only way to know Al's alignment. My post was potentially compromising regardless...

Though I will say that it's pretty early of you to throw down a vote when we have nearly two whole days left to discuss.

It was also a bit odd for you to throw down the sixth vote for G-Dog and help us hit hard lynch early then. Wanting to get your vote in before the deadline is one thing, but when we'd already guaranteed ourselves the soft lynch at least it's pretty odd...

I'm leaving now, so I'll reply to your post properly tomorrow, but I just wanted to remind you that we don't have the soft lynch in this game.

Intentionality loops really make this whole thing tricky. My knee jerk reaction is to agree with @Cat~ and say that @Calxiyn seems certain of @al215 more than is available in the thread, thus making her look like Mafia or Cop. But Mafia and cop both don't want to be that obvious due to fear of being killed. Which in turn can actually make such confidence a decent cover.

All in all I agree that we shouldn't publicly spend time trying to figure out who the cop is (anyone doing it on their own is fair game and makes sense), but it is important to realize when motives that look like Mafia could be attributed to the cop as well so that we don't end up lynching the cop.

As Mish mentioned and I pointed out in a previous post aplogising, Cat (I believe-sorry I'm on my phone and it's hard to double check) voted right before I did (about a minute actually I believe). I never meant to send G-Dog to a hard lynch and once again, I apologize.

And as Mish pointed out, I am a new player and I hate that I **** up. Im hoping as I play the game that I learn more so that I screw up less next time we play (and continue to play).

I also agree that Cal, along with Al, are likely to be town. However, I am extremely worried that Cal may now be a target for mafia. I wish there was a body guard role right about now (like in TOS) cuz Cal, you could probably use one right about now.

Despite Cat's post, I genuinely don't think it was done maliciously. I completely understand making mistakes and I sympathize with her.

Also hi Nova, it's lovely to see you again.

You guys are right, strictly speaking, there is no soft lynch. HOWEVER, if someone's the top vote at any given time, technically they are at what Nova's games used to call 'soft lynch'. Ditto:
With that out of the way, I will now call to the stand one Mr @. : tale : .

So *puts on reading glasses*, Mr Wind, following Blaine's (or past!Cat's) little editing incident, you voted for him. Then, after his replacement came through, also unvoting you, Midny advised the three players who had voted for him to null their votes, yourself included. The other two did so on their first chances. *takes off glasses* You sir, on the other hand, didn't (see post #189). It was only afterwards that you nulled your vote, without even mentioning why. Could you please elaborate on this if possible, Mr... uhm... Windy Taylor, was it?[DOUBLEPOST=1467513908][/DOUBLEPOST]
Actually Cat, Mish put up the fifth vote for G-dog. And before yours, KH530, came Krowley's, which was the sixth vote. Cat/Blaine only ever voted for Tale and Krowley, but not G-dog.
