I know it's sad to say, but without at least one of these items I have lost all stimulation and just say eff it and go to sleep. Anyone else?

I don't sleep well at all so I can basically feign narcolepsy if I ever wanted to mess with people....

LUCKILY, this did not happen to me. It happened to a friend.

HOWEVER, six days ago I had no internet in the middle of a play session... needed online to get the achievement I was gunning for.

My computer is a mess and rarely automatically connects to the internet when it's turned on so I have to play around with the wireless router for like 10 minutes before it works.

When my internet is completely down, I look longingly out of the window and then facedesk unsure of how to spend the rest of my day.

File a complaint and demand a refund for the time it was down. That shouldn't happen.

Sleep is one of my best friends so yeah when this happens I just sleep. Or draw - unless it's night time, but then I would already be asleep anyway.

A few years back our power was out for at least a week, along with our heat and whatnot due to a crazy snow storm. It was just terrible not being able to do anything.

If it's an actual power outage, I can't sleep because I sleep with a fan on. I have to be on the verge of passing out to sleep without it. I then resort to playing handheld games or reading.

If it's just the internet, I get pissy and unreasonable until either the internet comes back or enough time has passed that I forget about it and start doing something else. Draw, maybe.

I mean, that's a tad unreasonable. If bad weather strikes or it's a planned power outage, ya' deal with it because these things aren't magic.

I have no shame in admitting that my life would be bland and boring to me without internet and/or electronics. I embrace my digital age identity.

From what you said, there was no adverse weather, it just went down.

We had a storm two years ago (IIRC), which caused a power surge and me to miss a bit of that night's new Figure It Out episode because our satellite signal was going all over the place. I didn't even have a signal in my bedroom, but somehow my mom did. The episode repeated the next day, thankfully, so I wasn't too pissed off.

However, the next day, there was another power surge with clear skies, and there was no reason that should have happened. Thankfully, it wasn't during the Figure It Out repeat and it was only a surge, so I wasn't too pissed off again.

Don't get me started on that power surge that happened out of nowhere and for no reason that caused me to miss a good portion of that night's new House of Anubis episode because the satellite receiver had to reset, which thankfully repeated early in the morning next day, so I set a timer for it.

Well if you go by what I said, I have good news for you, it didn't go down. In fact, if we go by what I said, I said it didn't go down. I wasn't venting. The internet went out Tuesday (not power, internet) and that's because we had a flippin' tornado.

If we go by what I said, all I said is that when the power's out, I like to nap instead of find something to do that doesn't involve electronics.

Anyway, sucks that your power surges so much. I see why you're defensive.

Actually, we don't get power surges that often, I just easily get pissed off at anything: bad drivers, slow drivers, Internet going down, power going out, etc.

But oh, my God! A tornado? Are you okay?

So in other words, your area wasn't affected physically, but it was affected electronically and signally?

Uhh, it touched down a town away, but I didn't hear of any damage. I lost internet/cable, but had power so I played Mass Effect for a few hours, then I gave up and slept.

How far is that from you? It must have been an empty field, though; that's good to hear that there were no injuries or deaths.
