Long-Distance Relationships

My opinions are...

I am in one(With Jade Rhade), Everyone probably thinks that they suck because you cant interact(kissing and such), that, to me, isnt even necessary, although it does make it better.

2 of my 5 girlfriends have lived over 1000 miles away from me, and I've never met them in person.

1, so far, has ended in me feeling like I should be dead.

So, what do you people think?

 

I think that they can work! In fact some of my of distance relationships have worked better than my close distance ones!

True they can end in hurt, but if you think about it so can any relationship!

I do think physical contact is important to a successful relationship in all honesty, but it isn't the be all and end all!

So yeah I think they can work, they can be hard work but they can still work! :D

 

I've never been a fan of them. Sure you may have contact, but I see it as being a hollow relationship. if you can make it work then I applaud you, as I know some people that have managed to make it work. I have yet to see one turn into a full relationship though. In all it's entirely up to how you feel about them and whether or not you want to invest, but if one doesn't turn out as good as you wanted it to be there's always the option to move on and date people close to you. Seeing as you're still pretty young, it doesn't hurt to keep your options open.

 

I think in the end they are a complete disaster. Although i have never been in a long-distance relationship so i wouldn't really know what it is like.
But i have heard of people actually making it work & i even know someone who is planning on getting married. She's lives Scotland & the guy is from the US & they are getting married which came as a complete shock to me.
I suppose it can work but i doubt that it does very much.

It can be really really hard at times not being there with someone, but I know a bunch of friends who are still together despite being at different colleges. I was in one that ended kinda tragicly. And to people who are able to make it work for the better, i pretty much envy that. It is completely possible, but I don't like to be in that position. Not to mention that to be able to have a long distance relationship, it would take a large amount of trust on both peoples sides.

 

Relationships in general are simply crappy. Online relationships, for me, last longer than personal ones. Perhaps because, when you're online, you can be yourself plus you can't judge as quickly.

 

That is very true! You get to know someone for who they are instead of what they are :D

(unless it's some old pervert guy who lives in his mom's basement even though he's in his 50's )

Oh really? I was only kidding when I wrote that lol but do you know how easy it is to trick people? I could show you a picture of or video of one of my friends and for all you know it's me! Lol I'm not paranoid enough or distrustful enough to believe it about any one on here but it does happen you know! :D

 

Lol. No man. That's not how it works. The internet is filled with trillions upon trillions upon TRILLIONS of images. It's very easy to be a perpetrator and fake your identity. I know many people who have done it. :/

Not saying it always happens, but it does. Sometimes you need more than a picture or video.:/

And I personally don't have a problem with LD relationships. Relationships can be in any shape or form. I know that because we are sophisticated human beings; and I smack every person who doesn't believe in the thought of 'love' in a sentiment rather than a physical thing.

I'm currently in one, yes. With angel. I have been for three months(starting tomorrow for me).

I honestly can say I've never been in a "relationship" period. I can't deal with people. I only accumulate temporary friends of circumstance and I don't talk to them once they're out of sight. I feel bad about it, but I also feel no one really gives a damn about me. So, it evens out.

So to answer the question no and I do think certain kinds of people can make long distance relationships work, just not me.

 

Dude in all honesty if you treat people like that then is it any wonder you feel they don't give a damn about you? You need to give trust and friendship etc before you can take it! Besides I bet you you will find someone who knocks you off your feet and you'll regret saying that! *hugs* :D
