Hi there! I was wondering if maybe there were some Lolitas lurking here! And no, not Lolita as in the book, but as in the Japanese street fashion! I'm just a beginner, I only own 1 JSK, a (handmade) petticoat, and some off brand ankle socks. I'm hoping to build a wardrobe big enough to wear everyday! Anyways, hopefully this thread can be for fellow Lolitas/beginner Lolitas to share tips and such. Maybe even sharing pictures of coords and such? And oo, look pictures of me in lolita.
Awwww You look so cute xD I have no clothes like that but I probably wouldn't wear that anywhere around my school. They are not very accepting people- heck they make fun of me just for wearing my Kingdom Hearts shirt to school XD
I appreciate Lolita fashion and find it very beautiful. :) My favourite brand is Angelic Pretty, but I love Baby The Star Shine Bright's collaboration with Charmmy Kitty. I'm more of a futuristic fashion person myself, so I personally would never wear Lolita - but I do research Lolita fashion regularly.
Ah, Lolita fashion . . . Well . . . my friends have, more often than not, forced me to dress in it because I had that 'cute/innocent' personality type, so their always putting their hands on me and dressing me in this stuff. I guess that if I can find some pictures, I'll post them . . . not really
Hi I'm a Lolita! *u* I'm in a like position, saving for the day I can finally buy brand and have a closet to wear constantly! You look super cute! Is that Wonder Cookie I spy? I'll post some coords and links later on. c:
I personally would LOVE to wear Lolita every day. BUUUUT it's super expensive ._.' BUUUUUUUT So adorable! ^.^ I hope you can pull through with the whole wardrobe.
Never heard of it, could you tell me some more about it? Also, shouldn't this be in the usual spot or something? That "post your picture here" thread is there lol
It's not really something that you explain. It's a clothes line called Lolita. The most popular one is Gothic Lolita. Gothic Lolita is basically really rocker like clothes but in dress form with a lot of frills. It's supposed to be cute too... It's difficult to explain or talk about D:
It's actually pretty easy to explain. Lolita is a fashion style originating from Japan, the Harajuku-district in Tokyo made it big. It is highly insipred by Victorian and/or Roccoco styled clothing and highly depends on garments and materials to show off the perticular style. Lolita has a lot of different sub-styles, with the two most common being Gothic Lolita and Sweet Lolita. The clothing is very girly and elegant, and it's adapted to a lifestyle mostly outside Japan. Inside Japan, however, it's just a clothing style. And it's a rather normal one too.
Heheh. I know someone who likes to dress that way. Mm, she's adorable too <3 Ah, lovely, dear. Liking the hair a lot. Hah, interesting to see people have looked these things up. Do you study fashion in general? And how many brands are there, I wonder... Good info, didn't know a lot of that actually. Victorian and Roccoco, huh...
The most popular/well-known brands are Angelic Pretty, Baby The Stars Shine Bright and h.NAOTO. However, it should be noted that there are 14 aknowledged substyles and all these substyles have their own brands. Also, lolita is just buyable in regular clothing shops.
