So, I don't know why, but apparently now I have a logitech headset, and I'm not sure how to use it properly. (I don't even know where it came from. My mom thinks I'll believe her story that it was in the bottom of my clothes basket, but I know it wasn't). Anyways, does anyone know how these things work? I would really like to know, since I have them, but I don't know how to use them? Is there anything I need to know for using the mic? Is there anything specific that needs to be done?
Here's a picture of what they are. Although, I'm not sure if those are the exact models, they're just the closest looking.

Put it on your head. Listen. Done!

In all seriousness, is it a USB headset?
If not, there should be one pink and one green chord. Pink = Microphone, Green = Headset. Besides that, there's not much more to it.

yeah, it's a USB. I seriously don't know where this thing came from, and I'm not sure how to use the mic. And on the side there's like a slide...you know, maybe if I took pictures it would help. In fact, i'll do just that. I'm just not sure if the mic is ever working or not, and what the things are for it. The only thing I really know how to do is mess with the volume....although the sound doesn't record too well. That, or my voice is a lot lower than I thought.

Edit: here's some pictures. They're not the greatest, but if they help even a little

This thing is really used by the way. Like, the USB is actually bent from the normal position, as well as other stuff

Well, you will have to find the correct driver for it. Go onto Logitech's sites and just go by the appearance of their headsets (or just google Logitech headset usb driver)

I'm guessing the switch is to turn on or off the mic. If there are three stages then it is most likely Off, Low volume mic, and high/normal volume. You may have to change the default sound output to the headset which you do by right clicking speakers, then choose playback devices. Same for your microphone, only recording devices.

To test the sound, just plug it in after you've got the proper drivers (as Noroz explained) and just play some music, it should come from the headset. To test the mic, open up some sort of sound recorder (Windows comes preinstalled with one. Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Sound Recorder), hit record, and see if it works.

Yeah, I did that to see how it sounded. It records more cleanly than the other pair, but I wonder if it records at a lower volume.
Is what Noroz was saying about the recording volume?
