Local Hauntings?

My family have property up there and there have been some really strange things...

1) When my grandparents and our family friends first purchased our properties up there in the late 1960's, they started building their cabins right away. After they were all completed (there were 4 cabins that had to be built...) my moms uncle decided that he wanted to add some more to his. Long story short, he died on the lake. While rowaing his car-top boat towards his cabin, he had a heart-attack. A few days later, my mom, grandparents and other relatives were playing cards at my family cabin. They were all sitting quietly, focusing on their cards, when suddenly my grandmothers wine glass slid from on side of the table, stopped, and slid back. The next day my granfather examined both the metal table, and the plastic wine glass trying to figure out what had happened, yet he was unable to come up with a logical conclusion.

2) While building our cabin, my grandfather had placed a pieces of metal mech over our chiminey in order to keep animals out. On top of the mesh, he had put a 10 punds cement slab, which he had written his name and the year in before it had dried. The year after my grandfather died, my mother went up to our cabin in May. She found that the 10 pound cement slab had somehow been knocked off the top of chiminey and the only peice of it that had not been turned into rubble from the impact of it falling onto the ground, was the peice that had my grandfathers name and the year carved into it. NOTE that there is no possibel explination for the cement slab to fall onto the ground...

3) This is my personal experience with the unknown...

My mom and I had been working all day, gathering fire wood from up in the woods and bringing it down to the firepit. I was exhausted and decided to take a nap while my mom still worked. I went into my bedroom and closed the door before I took my nap. A few minutes after I had laid down, I had fallen into the drowsy state between asleep and awake. Suddenly, I heard the front screen door of the cabin open. What sounded like heavy boot steps, walked thorugh the kitchen and living room. They stopped and started to head down the hall way towards my bedroom, stopping at each door before mine for a few seconds. When the boot steps were right outside my door, they stopped. I couldn't hear any other sounds for a few seconds before I once again heard the boot steps move back up the hall way, not stopping this time. They walked back through the kitchen and outside the front screen door. All I heard then was silence. Curious to find out who that was, I got out of bed and wlaked into the kitchen. I looked out all the windows, not seeing anyone. I then walked outside and asked my mom if she had gone inside for something, she told me that she hadn't. I then asked her if the wind had blow open the door, she told that she hadn't seen nor heard the door open at all.

This was very strange for two things, 1) We didn't have any heavy boots around, and 2) If someone had entered the cabin and walked out, I would have heard them walk on the deck, which they would ahve had to do if they wanted to enter the cabin the way they did...

...We have also had UFO sitings up there. One instance was back in the 80's. While watching, what my family had thought to be a satellite, they noticed that it was moving much faster than any satellite they had seen before. The sateelite-like object had suddenly stopped along it's course, headed east, stopped again, headed west, and continued on it's way. This couldn;t have been any normal satellite because satellites can't suddenly stop like this object had. It couldn't have been a plane, becasue it was too far up in the sky. The next day, the headlines of the local newspaper read, "UFO spotted over Greenlake area".

...that's all I have so far...(my fingers hurt >.<)

 

I must say because of these recounts that my Mum and relatives have told me I'm a very strong believer of spirits.

One story I've always been told was when my Mum, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle and a few other family member were living a house in Sydney (which was worth very little at the time many years ago, now as it has a view of Sydney Harbour its worth over a million).

Anyway, in this multistory house, my Mum would never ever use the upstairs bathroom. She was literally terrified of it. This all made sense when years later she was old a man hung himself in there.

Also, when walking up and down the stairs cold hands would grab at everyones ankles. Everyone who lived in the house experienced that.

Interesting stuff.

 

You cant forget the Winchester Mansion here in California ^^ I'm sure everyone knows that one though

 

I've read/seen about the Winchester Mansion a few times. Quite an interesting place.

 

Fort Perbrook

Another place in England wich my friend in England had a birthday Party, it has voices, footsteps, Shdows, moning and last but not at all least poultaguist activity.

I went there and i saw 5 orbs 3 shadows and my bag kept on changing places when i wasent looking, But It ws awesome!

 

Ok, this is something that happened to me last year:

My mother's mother's father died in December 2006, and I was in my mom's bedroom, sitting on the bed, when I saw this pale figure in the bathroom. I looked over and it waved at me, then disappeared. I felt that is was his spirit saying good-bye to me (I'm a Christian), because I didn't know him to well. *I'm crying as I write this*. It more touching than scary...

 

My own little encounter:

when i was little, My dog died. she was hit by a car, somehow found out how to unlock the gate and ran...
On some occasions, I could hear her barking when somebody that nobody knew came to the door... as if she was still protecting it...

Also, I would find random holes in the ground that weren't there the night before... with one of her toys in it... It's hard for me to write this... especially since she was a very nice dog... and i have Aerith's theme from FFVII playing in the background and it is a sad tune if you know about her...

 

itisnt much but my granny's house was haunted, it flipped light switches and moved furniture
also our school is said to be haunted but i dont believe it is

 

Well we did used to have some kittens, which went to another house because we couldnt afford to feed all our cats. The family were lovely, and we visited everynow and then. And one day we got a phone call saying that one of the kittens (which was like 1 now) had died, something wrong with his brain. And everynow and then i see a small cat running around my house, ive been seeing it for a couple of years now. Im not sure if its the kitten (jess) or another cat. I thought it was just me until my dad came to me the other day saying that he's seen it. It has the same characteristics as jess e.g. running around, not staying still. And my elbow hurts as well sometimes, since thats were jess scratched it, im kind of upset now since i miss him so much, i have 3 identical scratched accross my elbow where he jump up on a chair once and caught my arm.

My dad had another experience, there was two candles in our old house and dad said in his head "mum if your hear blow out a candle" and one went out, i dont find that creepy, i find the comforting

I was only 1 or 2 in our old house, but the place was freaky before me, it got so bad, my mum wouldnt stay in the house by herself, my grandad always had to come over when my dad went out to work. Like once they heard footsteps upstairs, dad went up but nothing was there, not even the pets. And once they went out and came back and all the pots had moved. All this happened until i was born, ,mum belived that it might of been a lady who lost a child and felt at rest when i was born or as my kind friend said that the spirit couldnt stand my screaming lol

 

Last year I went to a Castle in Scotland, we could go where ever we wanted but we had to come back by 6PM. So I was going to open the door when it opened itself. I thought it was the wind so I went inside I climbed up the stairs and they were creacking, some of them were broken steps and then I continued and the light flickered on and off, as I went further I heard a noise and then I decided to get out of there quickly so I never saw who it was but the Castle was old and it was a tourist attraction, might of been a tourist.

 

Ive never been to scotland, and i try to avoid any castle's haha, i get freaked out easily

i visted a henry VIII house once and that was abd enough XD

 

You ever tried to saying bloody Mary eight times infront of a mirrior? They say when you do it, the ghost of Mary would come out and haunt you.

 

Do not even joke about things like that! I hate that story *shudders* bloody Tudor Monarchy and their crazy family. actually isn't it meant to be 3 times in the miror and she's meant to grant you one wish and then kill you? Hmmmm lol I'm still never going to do it I can't bring myself to just incase!

 

I already did it. It's 100% FAKE! Of course I only did it yesterday, I'll try what you said CTR.

 

Yeah well don't say I didn't warn you if she gets you! Jeeez I can't do the candyman thing either! And I Know that that one is fake! But I still can' do it

 

Isn't it say it 3 times in a dark room and she will attemt to kill you but if you turn on the lights, she dissapears. but if you were cut by her it never heals?

also, someone told me to say; Candyman in a mirror 3 times.

 

It's Fake aswell, there is no such thing as the Candy Man unless...

 

There is a Haunting at my old old school... when i used to go, my classmates used to pick on the janitor, but then he passed away. there were sightings of tennis balls being thrown down from the roof and mysteriously cleaned halls.

 

-chuckles- One should never tempt such a spirit.

I'm not saying that the legend of the ghost of "bloody Mary" being in a mirror to come out and kill you should you say her name enough is false. But I suspect that with the minor changes, {some say 10 times other say 3 } that it is simply a legend.

But is there a ghost of Bloody Mary? I'm pretty sure there is. England is a place of a long and bloody history. Not to mention all the ley line crossings that occur in that place. I wouldn't be surprised if she did exist along with a few dozen Druidic haunts left over.

It's true England does have a lot of hauntings, some places with more than others true (for example London and Derby) and I think it is partly due to what you said. England does have a very long and frequently bloody history atached to it as well as a lengthy mystical one. Sometimes in certain places you can almost feel it, like at Stonehenge you can feel how much it meant and it has an almost awe filled atmosphere.
