They tell you about as much about a person as a sun sign horoscope

 

The funny thing is that, once that person begins to wonder about how that horoscope/zodiac alignment affects them, they become their classification. That is, if it wasn't noticeable before.

 

Nope, nope, nope.

 

It's because horoscopes, and so on are designed to be as ambiguous as possible so that people can identify with them in general. It harkens back to the self fulfilling prophecy; we identify with those behaviors ('yes this sounds like me!!'), we begin to notice them ('oh my god i'm acting so Virgo today!') or see others notice, acknowledge & act on them, and that reinforces our belief in...anything really, being true, even when they're not necessarily the most accurate thing.

 

That's debatable, but I don't put stock in most horoscopes. Now birth charts, on the other hand...
