Not to sound stupid, but...

What's a waifu? Oeo... And yeah, I saw XIV and their apology. Does anyone remember when RPG's were, you know, rpg's?

 

Waifu is basically when someone has extreme fascination for a character from a game/anime. It's a pretty common joke that Lightning is Toriyama's (director of the XIII games) waifu

RPGs are still RPGs, you just gotta find the right ones.

 

Not with FFXIII...

I'll stick with the Fallout series, at least until there's levels back. And Kingdom Hearts. =3

And yeah, I can kinda see that. And I haven't played the games.

 

The nerd rage in this thread is great, some mad cause a clearly stated fact is being said, others because they're disgusted that god forbid a series try some slightly different, regardless of how well it was done or not, without results or examples.

 

Just finished the third day, as well as the second main quest. Enjoying the game so far, not as much as XIII-2, but still far more than XIII.

The game is really interesting, it has a world that feels absolutely alive and some stellar art direction. I think the game would have been better if they hadn't decided to switch it into a Lightning game, but beggars can't be choosers in this day and age when it comes to JRPGs.

ps. the battlesystem sucks

 

Really agreed about the world. I wish more people touched on that, but so many reviews are just like "I hate Lightning, hey look a corridor"
This isn't anything close to a record breaking FF, but it has its definite cool moments. Combat system still isn't fully realized though, yeah, and that's inexcusable at this point, they've had three games to refine it

 

I thought I' d give it a try since the AI I despise so much are gone. It' s still meh, but at least now when I fail it' s entirely on me.

Not a big fan of the time constraint thingy, though when you' ve figured out how it works it' s not nearly as annoying as in Majora' s Mask (only Zelda I never finished and never will).

Not a big fan of the art direction either, but it has its moments. Story-wise I' m still on day 2 but so far it jumps between utter nonsense (the main story) and total snorefest (the sidequests).

I do however enjoy the freedom, and I' m glad that it' s much harder than before. Definitely not the game of the year, definitely doesn' t feel like a FF anymore, but I' m out of RPG so I' ll take what I can get.
