I remember a Game Theorist spent a whole video about Final Fantasy being anti-religious. It's not the first time or the last Japan will stir the pot about religion.

Actually, I think they peaked in FFX...

You know, destroying a corrupt religion and then destroying said God...

I thought the peak was FF6 where you fight a set of boss representing the Divine Comedy.

What about FF2 where the good part of the final boss goes to heaven and is still so evil that he takes over heaven and becomes the new God?

 

There is a game in Final Fantasy WAY back in Game Boy days that you killed God and found out when you came back and the town was telling you.

At least that's what I think happened.

 

I believed what happen was you are sent back to the start of the game have to work your way up to the top again and God was all like, "lolz dis was a gaem ta see what ya monkeys would du. Wanna make a wish?" then you kill him out of anger of being manipulated.

 

That was Final Fantasy Legends. It is harder than a rock.

There's religious subtext{and not just not Christian} everywhere. Angels, gods, demons, apples...

 

You know, I wasn't talking about the fact that there was a God, but the fact that they make it as the God. You know, like how people pray to God in churches and stuff every sunday? I haven't played much of the single digit final fantasy game,s oi wouldn't know about those, but I do know this is the first I've heard of an all-powerful being that's essentially God; as in the big guy who created everything out of nothing.

 

I'm pretty sure in most recognized religions THE God isn't named Bhunivelze

 

Probably for good reason. They would be laughed off the cosmic stage with a name like that.

 

Hideo Kojima made himself God in Metal Gear Solid games. And I don't believe i'm kidding.

 

After the first game it became the most convoluted mess ever. who cares.

 

It wasn't meant to be taken seriously, at least, something that the Final Fantasy XIII series could benefit from, rather than taking the silly shit going on as SERIOUS BUSINESS
