Square-Enix Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Announced

The reason, I think, is so that new players aren't confused. Notice how she doesn't mention anything about how she woke up or past events in this trailer. She says God because so that people understand better.

Anyways, the new Lightning model is great, but that Fang model looks significantly lower quality. Her hair passes through her skin, no new clothes, ect.

They gave Lightning over 80 costumes but couldn't spare new ones for Hope, Noel or Fang? I don't get that line of thinking. it's not even lazy, it's sort of...strange.

I just hope that switching Schemata doesn't require us to change clothes, necessarily. I don't want to play dress up.

 

I wonder if they didn't give them anything new because we weren't playing them, and they were just there as normal characters. Now before you go on about how they had new clothes in XIII-2, that was also because they were older, but from the looks of this trailer, they all seem about the same age, if not the same......(isn't this game supposed to take place years after the end of XIII-2 though?). And maybe they wanted to try something with the costumes because a lot of games do it lately, and they wanted to try something more in-depth than what they did with the last game

 

The reason why they don't have new clothes was because they selectively choose who to change and who to not. There might be an in-game explanation, tho.

However, if you look at Lightning's model and then back at Fang's, there's a marked difference. Fang's model is very much the same one from XIII. The whole game had lots of clipping (when the models pass through clothes and other things)

They really spent a lot of time working on Lightning and didn't really bother too much with the others for some reason. Snow has new clothes, and the others don't? It's just a strange decision overall. Specially when Lightning has a plethora of clothes.

I hope the games sees a bit more polishing to fix all this hopefully. I really liked the XIII series and need this last game in my veins ; ~ ;

 

Just want to point out that apparently the Cloud preorder bonus thing was a really smart decision, because Lightning Returns is now the fourth best selling/most anticipated release on EB Games

Some of the stuff that I was reading seemed pretty legit. They didn't just make this game to make a game, it sounds like they really put a lot of effort.

 

Well most people HAVE been disappointed lately with FFXIII games, so I can understand why.

 

Which I still don't get....honestly.

Like what was so bad about the game? It is linear until the end cause they are running away from the government essentially they can't just walk into a town and be like "whadd up!"

But besides that was so bad?

 

Something about bad characters, bad combat, etc.

Characters are my favorites (Snow can die), and auto-battle is optional :/

 

Autobattle is optional, but all you achieve by not using it is putting yourself at a disadvantage by making your actions slower, except in very specific situations

To be fair, FF games have had their characters on the run before, and still managed to be nonlinear.
But yeah, I don't get it either. I've been looking around for a solid reason beyond just 'they're bad' and so far haven't found much...

Omg, yaaay Sazhhh finally ugh! And lol, did he say what I think he said at the end of that trailer...?

Anyway, decent trailer to round up somewhat of a hype, but still on the fence for deciding to buy this game. I might wait until the localizations are out until then.

 

I"m gonna preorder it. I already played the other two, may as well play this one as well.
