Life sucks

Discuss please.

 

OBJECTION!
Life is what you make of it. There can be people with miserable circumstances who are happy and optimistic, and then those who have a great life but are still miserable and angry all the time :)

 

If I may be like Luxord for a sec: You've gotta play the cards your dealt and make the best of what you've got.

Life is ether good or bad depending on how you view it and go about it.

 

What do you expect life to be like that makes it suck?

 

Oh the Irony.

And yeah life has its ups and downs. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy.

 

If it sucks, then why are you still alive? Be decisive about your likes and dislikes or die trying.

 

Yes, life has its ups and downs, and everyone has their ups and downs.
There's nothing new there.

Here's a good saying my English teacher told us yesterday:
"Wake up each morning and enjoy that you're alive!"

It was something like that, anyway.

 

Look on the bright side, you could have been the guy who got sucked to death. As long as you aren't in a bad movie franchise things can swing back to the good side, just gotta make it through with what life throws at ya.

 

Yeah everyone here is right life's hard to overcome but in time it'll get easier. Always gotta remember you win and lose no matter what, and in time you'll come to understand the real reason for life to be this hard, and besides......Life's not the worst thing in the world. It can be far worse than what it is now and I have plenty of scenarios to prove it but not gonna say it since I'm sure everyone agrees.

 

Look at it this way, life is one of the hardest things to go through but it's also one of the greatest experiences to go through. It isn't going to be easy, hell life can be very difficult at times. You've just got to keep your head held high and push through whatever life decides to throw at you. Sure it isn't easy and probably won't ever be easy, but just remember to look at the bright side of things.

 

Personally, I think it's subjective, some people have quite a negative mindset toward life and so do I during the bad times. I found that when I'm sad I can't cheer myself up, I need something else to- as if I don't want to cheer myself up, like I just want to sulk. I don't understand that- why do we like to sulk? Surely as some survival characteristic we would learn to be happier with things. Fair enough, it's probably just the thing that emotions will never change.

I don't think life does suck, or more accurately- it does suck and you have to cling on to whatever happiness you can find to make sure you live long enough to experience everything. There are times when I find some great opportunity or something amazing and I have to remember that when I feel down just to make myself feel better. I think it's important since this world just throws shite at you a lot of the time, as long as it's not done at the cost of other organisms.

 

Well life only sucks until you die.
THEN IT GETS BETTER.

That makes no sense.

Live life to the full,and you will die when you die.

 

That isn't even close to being true. Some people have terrible things happen to them non stop.

 

Life only sucks if you let it be that way. Even if bad things are happening to you constantly, you have to look on the bright side. I have a lot of problems, but I don't complain about them normally and when I do, I think that I shouldn't.

If you let it suck, life's gonna suck.

 

I disagree with a lot of the posts here, you can be as optimistic as you want to be, but life still sucks on many points.

Things that suck:
- Love
- Health
- Death
- Poverty
- Unfortunate events
- Grades
- Friends
- Family
- Music

Things that can be awesome
- Love
- Health
- Unfortunate events (they can lead to good things/stories)
- Grades
- Friends
- Family
- Money
- Music

In my opinion, it has nothing to do with your perception of life, it has to do with certain events. Shtty things happen, thats just how it is. Good things happen, that's just how it is. If you perceive something bad happening as something good, to put it bluntly, I think you're dumb as shit. Don't deny that bad things happen. But don't deny that good things happen either.

You can't really do anything about it. You can try your best, but you'll fail as many times as you succeed. It might be easier to be overtaken by the negativity, because many of the good things, you take for granted, because it happens on a daily basis. But you all need to know that one wrong may ruin many rights. So yeah, life sucks, but it's awesome as well.

 

Living in denial is even worse though. There needs to be a healthy balance.

 

Life is measurable by your own tastes.
You can change your life to how you see fit - To a certain extent. I know that you can't just make everything good, but if you really want life to change for you, then you have to work long and hard.

 

You leave out personal taste completely. What is bad for one person may in fact be good for another person. There are no objective goods and bads.

Furthermore, optimists live happier lives. They consistently live longer than pessimists. And if everything does go to hell, then the optimists is miserable in the end, but the pessimist was miserable the entire time. You tell me which is a better philosophy.

 

How can it be living in denial when it's true? You have to look on the bright side. Everyone's different, but the one thing, if anything, that I've learned about life is this: it moves on. It's unhealthy to revel in all of the bad things.
